I honestly doubt it because of Covid especially. People won't be exchanging cards they can't clean with a sanitizer or spray, I don't know if those 72 hour decontamination rules apply but it could be a reason.

You'd be surprised. The pricing of cards and people doing card selling/flipping has tremendously increased over quarantine. Lots of big influencers have started collecting and selling cards (ex: Logan Paul, FaZe Kay, and more).
