Accounts that have names of rappers, singers, movie/show characters, song/show names, youtube names, and so on should go in the semi-og section and not the OG section. Right now, people argue about what section an account belongs in. This is especially true when the username has a basis in pop culture. Accounts that I have recently seen that could go under pop culture is ZexyZek and Sasuke just to name two. These 2 names are popular among those who know of the youtuber or the character but for those you don't, it doesn't mean anything. It would be much easier to find accounts that have a pop culture reference if it all went in 1 section, and it becomes easier to moderate (Yes, the argument can be made that nobody moderates that section as of right now but if this is accepted, it makes getting a moderator to moderate that section somewhat easier).
Names like Logic would still go in OG because Logic is an actual word not just a pop culture reference.
There may be a few names that should still go in OG because of how long that reference has been around and how known it is. However, that can be up for debate too.
I have seen suggestions about a forum dedicated to these sort of accounts but I don't think there are enough of them to validate a whole section for pop culture accounts.

I just want to see what people think of this idea and what circumstances should be around it.

Drake isn't an actual word, does that mean it's semi og?
Drake is a name, making it OG.

I think there should either be another section for it, OR they should be filtered.

Example: "Sasuke" would go in OG section, "Uchiha" or "SasukeUchiha" would go in semi, as Sasuke himself is a well known character.

I don't think there should be a separate section for these accounts because I don't think there are enough accounts for it.
The reason I say Sasuke should go in semi-og is people who don't know of that character, it has no relevance to. There are more pop culture references in semi-og already so it would be easier to keep them all in the semi-og section.

"These 2 names are popular among those who know of the youtuber or the character but for those you don't, it doesn't mean anything." Agreed, but if we do this then lol and other names like PC and wtf should go in semi-og to then? Some people may know what it means, others may not.

ZexyZek isn't actually being sold as ZexyZek, the seller is hiding the IGN for whatever reason. Sasuke, I feel, should still be OG simply because of how often it's used; I very rarely read manga/watch anime and I know 3 characters with the same name, so it's clearly quite popular. As for other ones like that, yes, I agree. If it's very, very well-known, it should be OG, but for the majority they should be put into semi.

I don't think that it is fair to immediately move any non-english words out of the OG section just because of their pop culture status. With names like Pikachu, Homer and other incredibly well-known characters I don't think it is fair to immediately throw them in with the Semis.

The fundamental question I guess we have to ask is why we have them separate in the first place. Does separating OGs from Semis actually provide any benefit? The reason that it is so difficult to decide where an account should go is that nobody has an actual definition of what OG or Semi-OG means. In a few months, we hope to implement a filtering system, which would allow people to filter by price or other measures. Once this is implemented, what is everyone's thoughts on removing this rudimentary line in the sand and instead putting all accounts with a special username in a single forum?
