Hello, I think maybe you should add a new fourm where the users on the site can check out other users videos.
Theres something like this on "Minecraft Fourms"
I think it will help people grow and also help the bored people have something to do.

The reason there isn't a content uploading section is because this website is mainly designed for online business, not for people to advertise their channels. Perhaps a good alternative would be a sub-forum in the Off-Topic section for Content Uploading.

that actually makes no sense.

I didn't say you could only post "Let's Plays"
This website is not only for online business.
You could post videos in the video section looking for players for your SMP
reviewing a plugin or your own plugin there is so many things you could post that would be "online business"

Only a few amount of people would actually look at what is posted.

You wouldn't get that much exposure because most of the people using that section would use it to post their videos, and it would get over saturated quickly.

Good concept, but it is easier said than executed.

There wasn't anything crazy about what I said. First off, I said the website is mainly for business, not only. There's a difference. Second, I also never said it's only for Let's Play's. I said perhaps we could get a sub-forum in Off-Topic for people to upload content of all sorts, Minecraft or not.

Your idea is aimed towards Minecraft Forum. You seem to acknowledge that:

One forum does not cover every topic in the universe. You should continue using Minecraft Forum for such content, as that forum aims to target the average Minecraft player.

This is a business forum. This forum is not the best place to find players for your server, or find viewers for your channel. There was nothing negative, unconstructive or 'mean' in MisfitNerd's comment.

I couldn't even support the addition of a sub-forum under an off-topic section. Can you even show enough activity to warrant this forum, even if it was a good idea? At best, a thread prefix should be implemented, but I'd not even support that.

That would technically fit under the "Recruitment" section.

Btw, it would still be a waste of time, because the amount of users on this site that actually play minecraft is abysmal compared to PMC or Minecraft Forums.
Let's do some numbers (I LOVE this part ;p).

This assumes you mean recruiting people to be in a SMP series. If that's not what you mean, disregard the entire thing, it's not relevant.



Let's say there's 10K users registered on this site. 1000 of them are active on a daily basis, and therefore browse the forums regularly instead of sticking to just their desired forum section.
out of those 1000, there's a bunch of people that still technically "play" minecraft (builders, plugin devs, server owners) because it's needed for them to do their job. And who knows, they might occasionally play some actual minecraft still.
Let's say they total around 600 out of 1000 active people.
so that's 600 people who are potentially interested in playing an SMP.
Of them, about 200 are in a similar timezone.
Of those, about 150 speak reasonable english
Of those, about 100 who actually enjoy playing minecraft still.
Of those, there's about 70 who have the time to do so anywhere near regularly
of those, there's about 30 who care to do so in videos by someone they don't know.
of those, only 10 are willing to actually do it for you specifically (personality match etc) for any amount of time
of those, about 3 don't decide to ditch you after 1 or 2 episodes.
And THAT is what you're proposing to create an entire subsection for? so people can do that?

That said, all in all this does not sound like it would contribute anything worth the effort to the site, no matter how it is interpreted.
People come to this site to do business. The other sections exist because people get bored and need to be distracted. So yeah, you might find a few people willing to join. But you'd have WAY more reactions on PMC and Minecraft Forums, and you don't need a separate section on there.

Let's add a TLDR then, shall we?
point 1: This is not something that fits on the site. No, the site is not a 100% business forum. It has discussion and off-topic sections, because people get bored and if there's no place for their shenanigans they'll pollute the serious sections with it.

That does not mean we should add sections for things that do not fit the basic concept of the site.
By re-reading your posts a few times I've deduced that what you want is a section for people to post their youtube videos and thus advertise their channel.

No thanks. We're not going to turn MCM into a channel promotion site. The only youtube videos we want posted on here are those that are part of a portfolio of youtubers who do videos for money, whether LP's, trailers or cinematics matters not.
Anything else, this is not the place.
As we've said, go to PMC or Minecraft Forums. As you've said yourself, they have sections for this.

Why don't we? BECAUSE IT'S NOT THE PURPOSE OF THE SITE!
I could add a dozen analogies here, but I doubt they'd help anymore than what I've already written.

I did read your thread. I guess there's little point talking to you since you're 15, and have a feeling of being right all of the time. This is a business forum, it's the primary goal and it should be the only goal. Due to overwhelming demand from kids to expand it, it covers a larger range of topics and reduces the business aspect. Further expansion in that direction is not a good idea. Also, you should ask your English teacher to teach you about figurative language, if he or she hasn't went over it already.[DOUBLEPOST=1484435867][/DOUBLEPOST]

Also there are a few topics which have nothing to do with business.

Also I'm homeschooled. Not supposed to be smart.
However so was my dad and he never graduated or got his diploma and he's doing very well.
Also, I'm 15 and just bought my first car cash I'm doing pretty fine my self.
