I don't have a clue how many warning points each punishment gets me until I have it

Would be good if I could find that out

Also stops any staff from giving more than they should.

We plan to redo the warning and rules very soon, and when we do I'll make a wiki article about rule enforcement and the whole shebang.

I can absolutely guarantee you that no staff members are giving you more warning points than they should.

Mick beat me to it, this would abolish staff abuse and doesn't seem too hard to implement
If there is genuine staff abuse I certainly haven't seen it. Unless you have solid evidence of this I don't think it's very nice to slander the staff like this, I can assure you we do our best to be an impartial party when responding to people and reports.

js because recently there have been users complaining about this, I don't personally have anything against anyone

Let's put it like this. there's dozens of specific premade warning points, and the only way you can give a different amount is by making a custom warning. I'm one of the very few staff members (as far as I know) that ever used that option. It usually also means that you can tell something's off, since they'd need to perfectly replicate the standard messages if they wanted it to look like an existing warning.

The only other way a staff member can give more warning points than is listed is by interpreting the offense in a way that allows for a stronger warning (instead of "inappropriate language, which i think is 2 points, they could choose disrespect,Harassment & trolling, which is 5). that's also literally the only one that's up for interpretation, coming from memory.

It's not like a staff member can choose a warning and then decide how many points its going to be worth.[DOUBLEPOST=1484991773][/DOUBLEPOST]

not to mention that the internal control on this is quite strict. It's peer-to-peer checking. I've had multiple moments where I had to explain my reasoning on a certain warning to fellow staff members, who were of the opinion a warning was too strong (or sometimes, not strong enough. Rare though), or the warning was the incorrect type.
