I'm smoking the shit that's realistic, and not from some shitty developer off MC-Market who programs it all in one class. If you want it done right, with properly made SQL (Probably Mongo for efficiency, in this case) connections, with automated events and a proper system, you're easily talking $2,000. And yes, I've seen them made for this price, and more.What are you smoking?
Then again, if you're not willing to spend this money on it, the network will probably go nowhere anyway. Practice isn't just like Factions, you use GeoDNS systems to find the closest proxy, connect them to it, allow them to fight with the lowest ping, and keep them happy.
It's not just hit connect and join.

That explains a lot - I forgot this was MC-Market, in which Developers get paid $5 per hour if they're lucky.
Same result at the end of the day? No, that's why Software Engineers are paid $100,000+, and not $35,000 as it's not "the same result at the end of the day".
Plugins can appear to work on the outside, functioning as desired, but they can cause harm if they're not developed right, I saw one recently that didn't use async MySQL connections, and that person wasted $300 on that plugin, needing it remade as his server grew, as it wasn't done right in the first place.

MongoDB fetches all non-relational data since this is all non-relational, it fetches it in one query, and it's JSON which allows for easy manipulation, hence why multiple large networks use MongoDB over MySQL now.
Your quote is far too low for a "quality developer" - The fact you don't think GeoDNS is a good idea, should speak for itself. There's a reason US/EU proxies exist.

And many use MongoDB; because it's better for non-relational data. I can name quite a few big networks that do, or you can just look on Spigot at any half decently sized network, and you'll find it there.
No, all bigger servers will also have GeoDNS for their main domain, such as badlion.net, alternatively, they use AWS for Round-Robin.
A network, in my opinion, should never be 100% MongoDB, but it should be a mixture, and it's for that reason, that most companies (Such as Discord) used MongoDB due to its efficiency, speed and how it's more efficient on large, non-related data, than that of MySQL.
