I use premiere and make $25 and hour editing video.

Unlike Sony Vegas, render settings for premiere are fairly basic. I typically go with H.264 match source, and if you want high quality I'd go VBR 2 pass with maybe 20+ bit rate. At a certain point bit rate just increases file size and doesn't increase quality, so I wouldn't go much passed 30 or 40.
