So I have a bit of a question. I offer my development services on the site and I get some happy costumers. But its small. Some of them are returning to me but lately I have not gotten any new costumers.

It could be that is because I dont have a Premium or Supreme rank. I have heard people say that they help attracting clients. Is that really the deal?

I love this site and it enables me to make little money with my great hobby. Im just curious if Investing in a Premium rank is a smart choice.

Regardless of vouches and rep, people still seem to like to see a premium or supreme rank and assume they are more trustable, especially newer users.

My development shop is the second most vouched on this site, first if you don't count Myiume (he's a staff member).

I can definitely tell you that premium is worth it anyways. I got it about a month after joining the site. I wouldn't bother getting supreme though.

It's mainly your thread design and your ability to keep a relationship with clients that gets you work. The aim of the game is to draw them in (what your thread is for) and then keep them there, the reason people might not be coming back to you is:

- You're not being responsive enough
- You're not conducting yourself in the right manner (this is important).
- Your work is not of a high enough standard.
- You don't stand out from the crowd

The initial problem is starting up, there are a shit load of low quality developers on here and you need to make yourself stand out, make sure your signature is nicely formatted, you'd be surprised how much traffic it can drive. Also get a nice looking profile picture, it makes a huge difference, the second I switched from my old one to my current one I definitely noticed a change in the way people treated me. At the moment yours seems like it could have some work done on it ;), remember, bright colours attract attention.

Overall I'd just say get premium anyways, it does make you look more trustworthy if you've invested money into the site and if you're around a lot then you'll get to know new users in the shoutbox, even if half of them are very irritating.

Just re vamp your whole profile, buy premium and maybe invest in a thread design?

Anyways good luck and I wish you luck in getting new clients, the initial grind is hard but trust me once you get traction you'll never be out of a job, high quality developers are always needed. :)

EDIT: Also remember to always get people to vouch for you, if you do it well enough then they'll leave a "winner" rating on your thread, that always attracts attention.

Thanks man! Thats some great help! I will get to collecting some for the premium rank. I already have a nice thread design. Maybe ill even pump in a colored name haha!
