After further reflection on my and the community's recent comments, I have come up with a suggestion to better our community. The recent homophobic and anti-LGBTQ comments should not be tolerated on this site. The staff team has been doing a great job handling these situations, but I believe this idea will limit these situations.

Suggestion
Because of the recent homophobia and anti-LGBTQ taking place on this site, I believe we need to add a pronoun section to user profiles that will be visible as shown in the example below. There will be an option in user preferences to enter your pronouns and they will be displayed as entered.

How will it look?

How does this benefit the community?
I believe that this will have a great benefit to our community. This new feature will put an end to misgendering our beloved community members once and for all.

If it's something you really want to make known just put it as your status or something. No need for staff to go out of their way to add that.

Mine were deleted by staff. This is also very useful because they are right there instead of clicking the profile to find the user's pronouns.

Did they delete your pronouns? Maybe make a suggestion to allow it to be added to your custom status instead of a whole new feature.

These are much more visible and cannot be missed. It doesn't hurt anyone and will only benefit our members.

You can call me whatever you want but I don't see this as a priority or benefit others. There are other ways you can go about telling people your pronouns or just a simple correction if someone uses them wrong. It also covers up part of the profile picture and kind of makes this forum look more LGBTQ.

Maybe we could put it in a different location so the profile picture isn't covered?

Maybe it'd be useful to you, but considering it's just a 1-second correction if someone uses the wrong pronouns, I honestly don't think this is at all needed. Only a very minor percent of the site would have a use for it and at the end of the day, you can always set a custom status. Your's was removed as you used it to mock people :/

As I've said, I'm making this suggestion to better myself and the community. Please do not make the assumption that I am trolling because of my previous actions. I have decided that I want to be a better person and this is my first step towards bettering us all.

I personally feel as if there is only a small minority of users on this site which may benefit from this, and may become a hassle to the other users having to set their pro-nouns, etc.

I completely agree, there should be instant bans for misgendering and other blatantly transphobic behaviour. We should also be able to set various flags to indicate our sexuality as our post backgrounds so that people are more informed.
