1.6 Disrespectful/Harassing/Hateful/Trolling Behavior
After further reflection on my and the community's recent comments, I have come up with a suggestion to better our community. The recent homophobic and anti-LGBTQ comments should not be tolerated on this site. The staff team has been doing a great job handling these situations, but I believe this idea will limit these situations.

Suggestion
Because of the recent homophobia and anti-LGBTQ taking place on this site, I believe we need to add a pronoun section to user profiles that will be visible as shown in the example below. There will be an option in user preferences to enter your pronouns and they will be displayed as entered.

How will it look?

How does this benefit the community?

I believe that this will have a great benefit to our community. This new feature will put an end to misgendering our beloved community members once and for all.

I completely agree, there should be instant bans for misgendering and other blatantly transphobic behaviour. We should also be able to set various flags to indicate our sexuality as our post backgrounds so that people are more informed.
Ah so if I were to mistakenly call you a female I deserve a ban. Having a whole new feature added just for pronouns doesn't seem useful, now if this was an LGBTQ-focused forum, it'd be a different story.

Also to add, instead of the usual bans and punishments, mcmarket should work something into their t&c's that lets them employ capital punishments on people who engage in this sort of behavior.
Oh, you're taking the piss.

Cade has been warned for trolling.

For those of you unfamiliar, here’s Cade just a couple days ago:

Normally, we grant people the benefit of the doubt, but in this case, it’s unnecessary and would even be unreasonable.
Cade’s intention is to mock, misrepresent and encourage intolerance for people who use different pronouns than those assigned to them at birth. As recently as last night he has been calling the staff team "clowns" for attempting to support and protect these people.

This suggestion is being denied.
1) Because it was created for the above malicious purposes
2) Offering an option like this will only make it easier for those with malicious intent to target those with preferred pronouns and harass them or discriminate against them. The great thing about online business is you can’t see who’s on the other end of the screen. The vast majority of people who are struggling to find acceptance and tolerance prefer to blend in with everyone else as much as possible, not advertise their situation to people who are desperate to degrade them.
3) Having a user-input gender field will be abused by people like Cade who want to mock those with non-binary pronoun preferences. The staff team does not have the time or resources or ability to validate who is being serious, and who’s attempting to use the granted freedom to sabotage the image of everyone else.

Maybe one day, the community will mature to a point where this can be considered a reasonable option.
