I did a quick search for threads looking for ProtocolSupport. I've known about this one for some time, but I've been trying to work some stuff out with the MC Market staff. Apologies for the late response as a result of that.
We've actually decided to create a resource here for people that prefer it to the usual distribution channels. It's still free, and the resource page has some information about where to obtain old versions of the plugin. You can find it here.
