Imo I think this rule should be removed as a user may not want to publicly post proof as it also gives other people a decent amount of proof to alert Mojang Employies of this in which case Mojang can start investigating this hence putting the account under risk. Furthermore people like Rypeo shouldn't even have to bother posting proof as they are believed already. It should be that someone wants proof then they can pm the seller. Lastly, proof can be forged so the only legitimate proof is a video of them logging on mineplex or them logging into a server with the buyer. This therefore makes having to post proof a waist of time so if the seller doesn't won't to then they should just be able to pm the buyer the proof. Hope this rule gets tweaked :)

Inspired by Myiume's comment on Rypeo's thread.

Proof shouldn't be a 'rule'. If you're going to decide to deal with a non-reputable member who is not willing to provide proof then that's the buyer's own decision.

It's common sense. This shouldn't be a 'rule' as some users like to keep the name of an account publicly private until purchase.

That's the BEST! jk that's dumb soz mate but..

Everyone needs to show proof - You can block out part of the name in the screenshot..
Why would extremely reputable ppl need to show proof on thread? It makes their account liable to risk. They can just show proof to the buyer before purchase.

Because reputable people have scammed in the past. - And yeah but it just prevents some further issues :/.
They can show proof before purchase to the buyer, then they won't scam nor will their privacy be breached, that's a win win.

Here's a reword of the current rule which I suggest to be added:

"As a seller you must be willing to provide proof of account ownership"

Logically, providing proof on a thread doesn't make sense if one is trying to protect their account. Just let them provide proof when they find a seller, with the current rule you're putting the members of the fourms at risk

Instead of rating my post funny , can you please just tell me what you think is wrong with the idea? It disrupts your privacy. The rule should be tweaked to: You must provide proof to buyer prior to purchase if requested.

It isn't a rule, but instead of joining a server, the user can just change the skin to something that says 'MCM' on it.

I do agree with what Linux was saying, just not the way he said it.

Everyone needs to provide proof, it's that simple.
