PS4 to laptop monitor

Currently im planning on buying a ps4 for a trip but i need to know if i can hook up my ps4 to output the display onto the laptop monitor. i know theres remote play but the location dosent have wifi lmk if this is possible without wifi

HDMI port
ik that but i dont know if it will work. Once i plug it in what do i have to do next? do i have to download stuff, will it put my windows to sleep mode and start displayng the ps4?

You mean that you can take a hdmi cabel from your ps4 to your laptop hdmi outport?
If so, no.. that will not work..

The HDMI port on your laptop is output only (same as the ones on a desktop motherboard or GPU) and do not function as input.
However, some older gaming laptops (Alienware IIRC) allowed you to switch between using it as output or input. If your laptop supports this then you can, but most likely it isn't one of those.

You can try using a capture card and using the capture software to 'live view' the capture. Input lag may be a problem and will depend on the capture card.
I know Xbox has streaming over the network (not sure if PS4 has this, but you did mention 'remote play' which I assume is the same feature), so you could setup a network between your laptop and console (using an ethernet cable or a hotspot - your laptop may or may not support hotspots) to do this.

As others have said, the HDMI on your laptop is output only. Your best bet is to purchase a cheap HDMI capture card, preferably one with very low latency. If not, just use your phone's hotspot or something and use Remote Play through there.
