I think there should be a tab on your profile that says "Punishments", which includes all warning points given, with reasons for each violation, as well as any temporary bans or permanent bans which were later removed. Since users here deal with money, we should be able to have all information about a user at our disposal, making it easier to determine if we'd like to deal with them, rather than blindly taking chances.

Personally I think this is good, with the added addition of what I mentioned above. It's always nice to have all of that information available to you. If users try to argue "It's a violation of privacy", don't start please. You shouldn't have been breaking those rules in the first place. I have no problem admitting I have 6 warning points for abusing reactions a year ago and for abusing the reputation system in January. They're mistakes I made and I regret them, those are things people should know about me. I feel everyone deserves that same kind of clairvoyance with other users.

Mick I know you liked this but that old thread kinda died so I made this ons. Thoughts and opinions are welcome, just provide an explanation if you disagree.

Like I said on the thread before this is already a thing for staff. Adding it for regular users seems pretty reasonable to me I think.

Here's what it looks like for us. I used Doge as an example, hope that's okay with him :)

Definitely love this idea, and I think we should be able to see banned members profiles as well.

I don't really like this idea.

Our reputation should not be on the line over the markets silly and ridiculous rules. The rules on this market are already insane and a lot of people have talked about it in a suggestion Asa made.

I have absolutely nothing to hide but it's a privacy of my mistakes to be kept to myself then everyone else checking on why I got punished and explains the reasons from 2015,2016 etc and telling them how it was a mistake.
Mistakes & rule breaking punishments from years ago will tarnish anyone's record, regardless of where you are and what you did. I believe it's a part of life, and there's literally no problem with having it here. I mean, could you say to an employer, "Hey, I know on my record it says I stole in 2014, it was a mistake" and they'd just ignore the crime/punishment?

Furthermore, I would like to note the reputation system wouldn't work 100% on this, it would just be a contributing factor. Therefore, remibarna, people can still look at your record and rather being like "Oh, this guy did this I'm never trading with him", they can be like, "Oh, so they did this, I might be cautious but they look pretty clean anyway." If anyone requests that you explain your punishments, also, you can just say no and be done with it. Simple, right?

I honestly like this idea and I feel it would work well.

I would hardly call the rules here insane. Maybe the interpretation is overly strict sometimes, but excepting 1 or 2 all rules either make perfect logical sense or had to be implemented because other users couldn't use their own common sense.

I'd actually like to open this suggestion thread up again to get more input.

Doge I know that you were against this in the past but I can't remember why, can you explain?

If anyone else has more input about this I'd love to hear it. My perspective is still that we are a marketplace and giving users as much data as possible to make a decision about doing deals is for the best.

I agree with this as well it'd be nice to know more about who you are dealing with.

I personally think that this would be a good idea on the front that you can know whom you're talking to and what they're like, you can go back and look at your past incidents and reflect on them and deal with them (If you're not some nutter that doesn't care).

BUT it can be a bad thing too, What if - since said punishments, you've improved yourself and want to sell a service, but nobody comes to you because of your past? Then what? You're stuck with a service that you're unable to sell and can't actually get customers because you're reputation doesn't speak louder than the MC-Market Punishments tab.

Can't you say the same about our reputation system lol?

Not necessarily, some people with bad reputation still get customers because they also have good reputation, and most of the time, the good rep is putting more weight into the decision than the bad reputation. Whereas Punishment logs is a lot heavier.

Idk man.. neg rep has more of an impact than positive for me. I'm pretty sure some people can agree with me on that.
