I'm tired of seeing these threads. In order to be a middleman, there should be some basic requirements that are not strict at all but will weed out 99% of the spammy middleman posts from users who registered that day and have 0 rep. What do you guys think?

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Mc-market shouldn’t meter a requirement to be a “middleman”. Being trusted doesn’t mean you’ve registered for x amount of months, nor have y amount of reputation. Middlemen can be elected by the community for they’re generosity, or helpfulness. I understand you dislike newer users creating middleman threads. However, you may seem them as “fresh meat”, but that doesn’t mean when they create an account here they’re starting a new life. They’re probably trusted from where they came from and figured they could share it here.

Also, they’re not breaking any rules for posting middlemen threads. If 2 users deem them acceptable, then where is the problem?

The users should do their own research into the middleman (reputation, vouches, etc). We shouldn't have requirements, as there's a good amount of users here that are reputable offsite, and don't meet these requirements. Let the users decide who to pick, let's not limit it.

I'm tired of seeing these threads. In order to be a middleman, there should be some basic requirements:
  • 6+ months on MCM
  • 35+ reputation
These are not strict at all but will weed out 99% of the spammy middleman posts from users who registered that day and have 0 rep. What do you guys think?

Agree with the time requirement but would be hard for someone who is on MCM to be a middleman to get rep when they can’t middleman because of rep

EDIT: After looking through your examples; I agree lmao, they’ll just have to provide another service to gain rep before MMing.

I reckon there should only be a time requirement of about one month since most of the example threads you mentioned are created by users who joined this month (I think they're probably new accounts trolling or something).

It should cut down on the spam a lot. I'm not sure about the reputation requirement though, since people could just farm the rep anyway.

If you're looking to create a requirement based on rep, I reckon it should be based on the total amount that they've dealt with.

I've edited the post to make it more open-ended as to what specifically the requirements should be.

This has been suggested and denied a few times now, I'd rather not implement restrictions on who can post where without a very valid reason for it. If there's a middleman you don't consider to be reputable then simply don't use them, otherwise go ahead.

Adding in requirements to post in more forums than we have already makes it much harder for users to integrate well into the community and makes us not very welcoming to the new folk.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
