Hello! We are currently planning out ideas for a potential RPG/MMO style gamemode that is designed around questing.

We are trying to come up with ideas of things that we can include in these questing systems. The more in depth and thought out the ideas are the better. we are planning to custom code this into our network fully so I would like it if they weren't all just 'gather and give' style quests but quests that may require some skill to pass.

Let's get a total list of possible quest types in here.

  • Gather and deliver
  • Kill monsters
  • Kill monsters with a certain weapon
  • treasurehunt (a bunch of clues leading through different areas to different parts of a set of gear
  • Escort mission (requires the most effort, since you'd need some sort of AI)
  • Fragile Delivery (don't take damage during the delivery process)
  • Protecting an area (crashed caravan, village under attack, castle under siege)
  • attacking a protected area (player vs player with previous point?)
  • Hunting down a specific monster/enemy
  • Following clues to chase down a person that keeps moving

That's all I can come up with right now.

Add high tier questions which when complete, they obtain god armour. For example, a user completes a high tier quest and they get 1 god armour piece, they would then have to complete the following 3 high tier questions to obtain the full set. The full set could have some sort of ability once they equip all pieces. Just an idea.

I do like this idea! Thanks. I am just struggling on the story-line and how we can make it engaging and interesting for all ages?
