Hello MCM, so I am starting up a server, I always have trouble with gathering a substantial Staff Team. How should I go about acquiring Staff Members for my server?

If you want a trusted staff team, then you would promote your own players on your server in time, at least 3 months play time. If your going to be active on your server, and depending on the size of the server you can most likely manage it on your own. (1-25+ players). If your a network or some big server, your obviously going to need staff. Check out minecraft forum and planet minecraft for getting staff to apply. Make sure you don't give anyone OP or access to files, and always watch your ban logs.

Lastly another way to get staff is by paying them. Post threads where people would apply to become staff. Make sure to video call them on skype as well to make sure they met your age requirements.

Recruit from your own playerbase. They are usually the most active, most deticated and the least powerhungry.

If you do decide to recruit on this site, go for people that sounds nice and genuine, not people with lots of experience. People who has switched betwhen many servers are usually powerhungry or just bad at their job.

Make sure your team is well managed and looked after! A great thing to do to get your staffies more social and to have more fun is to have game nights.

But with a great staff team also be aware of the community and listen to their opinions and points about specific members. This could be good, for promotions. But also bad if you ever need to demote a staff.

In addition, I believe that having a position ladder would most defiantly help your staff work harder for that promotion.
