This is not a thread to start controversy, I would simply like to know everyone's opinion.

Khafra sold an account to someone, and said someone attempted to chargeback and supposedly failed. From this standpoint, he/she then stated that he/she would pull the account and Justis called him/her (I wont judge :p) a scammer.

I failed to understand this, and would like the opinion of the community, because taking an account back if someone attempts to scam you is something I've seen as a norm and many people have done it. So I leave you with this question; You sell someone an account, they attempt to chargeback and mid chargeback/after they have lost the chargeback you are faced with the challenge of taking your account back or letting an attempted scammer keep it. What do you do?

Already stated my opinion about this in the shoutbox, but may as well put it on the official thread too :)

If someone chargebacks, you should remove their access to the product and fight the chargeback (obviously). Simple :)

As I said in shoutbox.

Once you sell exclusive rights to something, and that product is no longer yours. You have no rights to it.
The only case where you should be able to take it back, and not be called a scammers, is if the person you traded with took back their money.
This is different from attempting to take back the money.
It is quite literally the possession of both the money and the product that is scamming.

The person charging back in this case had access to the account, and attempted to chargeback to also get the money, that is attempted scamming, that member would be banned.

D2. Then took back the account, which was perfectly fine and sound as the other member initiated the cancel of the deal, however, he intends on trying to win the PayPal dispute as well, instead of cancelling it. Meaning he would be in possession of the account and the money.
This is also scamming.
The moment he secured the account back, the deal was successfully canceled, and he should have refunded the money.

Intending to possess both the money and the product, by either party, is theft.

We are all responsible for our own actions, and our wrongdoings cannot be justified by other people's wrongdoings.
Even if we're salty that someone tried pulling something on us, we should still hold ourselves to higher ethical standards than them.
MC-Market holds every member to equally high standards.
If you scam, you're banned. No matter what the other person did or tried to do.

If somebody attempts to scam, I don't see why taking their money without giving them the account is any better. There are consequences for attempted scam, but one of them isn't stealing their money in the process.

Even if it may not be WRONG in your moral judgement book, it is wrong, and bannable, on McM. And that's what matters, eh?

Hi, here's how the story goes (for you to take a side on for this so called argument I don't really want to be in).

A guy offsite decided to buy an account from me, he sent the money, I gave him the account, everything went smooth - until today. I come home to see this from PayPal:

I don't care, I got the account back already. If it's really an unauthorized chargeback, whoever ___ is can have their money back, and I have my account back. If I win, he can come crying to me over why he chargebacked on me, and maybe I'll work something out (i.e. no email access). If I win the chargeback, it obviously means the account wasn't compromised, and he outright lied about it in an attempt to scam me, but somehow I'm the scammer in this (possible) situation.

I don't personally think I'm a scammer, and I doubt Justis R really believes I'd exit scam a whole $100 (I've already donated $100 to SpecialEffects so would there really be a point?)

The kid is obviously pretty young, he didn't even bother changing the email password or attempt to remove my recovery email from the account - I highly doubt he was intelligent enough to steal or use a stolen card/account.

http://prntscr.com/hmngvx here he is for anyone who uses[Censored]:^)

-snipped-

I didn't say this in shoutbox (my bad) but I'm fully willing to negotiate with this kid, if I even win the chargeback.

edit:
tl;dr I really don't care, I sold the guy an account, which I had no intention to scam/steal. I regained access to it within 30 seconds, I'm not exactly mad. If I lose the cb, I lost nothing, If I win, he can contact me again and I'll work something out.

I'm not going to put the account up for sale again until this is resolved either.
