What does "RESERVED FOR UPDATES" etc. mean? Can't find the definition either

You post that so you can edit the post later. It is usually the 2nfmd top post, so it will be seen way better than if the updates were posted on, as an example, the middle of page 3.

It’s the first post below the thread they created. The thread creator reserves the first post on their thread so they can edit it in the future if they have any updates on whatever the thread may be about, it is useful because it is at the top below their own post so people are more likely to see whatever updates the thread creator may have.
