  • Is it possible to build your own laptop?
  • Have any of you built your own laptop?
  • Conspiracy of how you can build your own rig of a desktop computer and have thousands or so options on things, but what about laptops.
  • Where would I buy the parts?

Well yes I guess you could build you're own Laptop if you had someone machine a laptop case that could hold laptop parts, but I wouldn't purchase single laptop pieces(Apart from Laptop RAM) because there normally ripped out of old laptops and sold as not working.

No I haven't BUILT but I could imagine it would be very tedious work, with all the small pieces.

Uhm not entirely sure what you mean by this but I take it as, Laptops cannot harness the same power as a normal PC Case could due to cooling and size, also you're limited to the size of the built in display.

eBay, Amazon etc.

Sorry very tired whilst posting this ;c

Yes it is "possible" to build your own laptop
I have built my own laptop before but I did not like the finished product
I do not understand this question ( add more detail and I will be glad to answer )
I personally bought them from EBay and Amazon but you will need to have a good bit of knowledge on the parts you will be buying so you do not get ripped off

Thanks for viewing this thread, would I be best to take my old dusty laptop and do the following?
  • Replacement Case (To get rid of the battle wounds it's been through)
  • New KeyBoard (Half the keys have been removed, and neither do some work)
  • Upgrade Ram (More random access memory)
  • Upgrade HDD / SDD ( More storage for the system )
  • Upgrade Processor (A old processor that meets requirements for the computer)
I'm asking all this, because I'm frequently on the go.
My desktop is amazing, (still upgrading it time by time) and it hasn't let me down ever.
I see most of my laptops are overused, because hell I'm used to fast and laptops bother me a bit.

It depends on the prices of upgrading it or just buying a new one. You don't want to just upgrade your laptop just because you have had it for a while. Get a notepad and look up what you want/need in your laptop for it to be a successful upgrade and find the total and then look on the market for the SAME specs of your upgraded one and see how much it goes for. If you can not find one that matches up with the one you are "upgrading" then obviously you can upgrade it and might save some money from having you pay for a guy to put it together. Im sorry if you got confused in me writing this this way. Hopefully this helped!

I understand everything your putting down, I'm using this knowledge to fonder a idea of creating a company like affordable version of alienware, ironsidepc, etc. Although that may sound "insane", its the word we'll use for granted. Anywho, this thread is about my personal laptop. I'll do what you said, and get back to you.
