clearly the way you guys choose staff is great, it's like every staff member has to type in chat using correct capitalization, comment on every single thread thats significant. Like if you would have had a deeper look into Harrison, he's a 7th grade virgin that fakes his mf IT administration garbage. And seeing the recent staff banned is quite funny as well as they are just members that were rather active in chatbox or idk treated a staff member well. Hire staff that are seriously known to do well and gives a shit. I can see quite a lot of users on here that I actually doubt will scam or mistreat a soul. But then here we have the mf staff team favoring whoever they think looks cool and has a charity color. like dude holy fuck.

This is pretty far from the truth and its sad to see.
"Like if you would have had a deeper look into Harrison, he's a 7th grade virgin that fakes his mf IT administration garbage. "
In this deeper look, you pointed out his age, his profession, and whether he is in a relationship. None of which have a big part in whether someone is picked for staff or not.
Your next point is that staff are just people active in chat or treat staff members well.
That's also wrong, chat activity plays a part in what we look at but treating staff members well does not.
I have suggested a large number of the chat mods we have added to the team recently and I have not talked to any of them before. They did not treat me nicely or were my friends, they were suggested because I saw a professional attitude as well as a tendency to help others and be part of the community.
Harrison had no indications that he would mistreat anyone. Also, he wasn't hired by us picking him, he was hired as part of round 2 of staff applications.
I'm also pretty sure all the staff members I suggested weren't using any charity name color at the time I was looking at their profile, so I am really not sure where you are getting that from.

You say people that know what they are doing. That's a very general term.

Most big users have major reasons why they aren't hired. Lesser-known users just happen to be picked more since they usually don't have as much interaction with the black market, drama, etc. Just well-rounded users.
I'm not saying there's a greater solution but I don't see one from this thread.

Half the stuff I quoted there was quite exaggerated obviously. But how am I so good on seeing these types of incidence before staff could even blink. I actually doubt you look anywhere near a staff member's history or personal REAL profession. Many many ex-staff members aren't even what they say they are to be. This market is much more important to a regular job hiring, I'm serious.. any staff member has the ability to scam thousands and thousands within an hour.. and I do not think you or any higher roles have even considered that. It's impossible to pick users and say they are not going to scam, but actually doing research and collecting legal applications goes far. Just because someone has a big reputation doesn't mean they will scam at all, and that's why I believe it's fucked up, seems like apps are overthought.

Any single person that everyone puts extreme trust in has the ability to scam that much, not just staff members. I’m fairly certain you never said that Harrison would scam before this incident happened. For most known members, there is nothing to indicate that they will scam. There’s nobody on the forum that can accurately predict every member that’s going to scam. I really don’t think having a legal application would have prevented this. But I’m also confused what type of staff you want. You say applications are overthought but you also say that it is really important to have good staff members. If it’s so important than a lot of thought should go into a staff member before adding them to the team.

This is a horrible thing to say.

I agree somewhat that the venting process should somehow be different but blaming MC-M for the actions of one is not right.

Mick and the staff members who vote on new staff members know community members, nobody could of guessed this would of happened.

it's predictable if someone is getting 200 loans in the same day, staff would've known if they paid attention to what's going on, but unfortunately, some are hired here and are barely active.

I'm sorry but you should really dial back the sexist undertone Kram. Why have you related "[being] in a relationship" to whether or not harrison is a "virgin". Since when did relationships always involve sex?

I got told by a staff member at some point (can't remember who or when) that the current staff picks out people on the site for staff. That means friendship over skill 90% of the time. I do not know if this is true as I never worked as staff on here. This is just what I've been told.

Lol. Ask most of the current staff members, and they'll say that they never have properly spoken with another staff member prior to their promotion. The same goes for me, I didn't know any of them until after I joined the team (before I left).

Harrison's personally life does not really matter in this situation because when he has chosen as staff he didn't have controversial past and didn't get involved in drama. Finding staff on such a big forum is really hard because you place I lot of trust in them and if something goes wrong the site owner/administrators take the blame. This is why it takes time to find good staff it doesn't matter if they are not well known if they do there job it means a lot.
