It's not really pricey. For a job like this it's generally this much. The amount of work a developer has to put to making your site secure, ESPECIALLY when money is involved, is what makes this price shown. This also includes the frontend work with it so generally the price is about as much as it's really worth.

It's not necessarily "pricey" when you factor in the time it takes to develop a UI, hard-code the UI into a static website, then begin to work on the back-end. Any website that involves databases and integrations with payment services will take time to develop to make sure that there are no bugs, the website functions as intended, and that everything is secured so as to allow client's to feel comfortable when using your website and making purchases. Web development is an arduous task that takes time and dedication and thus developers value their time differently - for me I feel that quoting in a range of $200-350 is appropriate based on the amount of time it would take a developer like me to create.

The fact you want a system like this done in 3 days is practically impossible without their being numerous bugs. What you're wanting is much more advanced than a "Welcome to my site" page. The backend needed for this site is already sitting you at 2 weeks minimum. Then the developer would need to come up with a UI scheme that fits your site personally. A good developer/designer knows this task cannot be rushed as it's what will be the permanent, visual style of your site. These can be ranging from a week to a month depending on how detailed the developer/designer goes into the UI, which should be detailed in nearly all forms and aspects. Then you're on to the actual design phase on the website. You're already looking at 1-3 months with the inclusion of bug checks to insure there aren't any security flaws or bugs.
