Wich raid level you recommend me to use for long life and data protection

i got 6 drives in total as following
1x 256 gb ssd used for CacheCade
5x 1 TB

those 5x1tb i wanna use those for performance,data protection and long life availibity

It depends. Are they solid state or hard drives?
How often do you take offsite backups and how much storage do you actually need?

When it comes to raid 5 vs raid 6, raid 5 will have faster write speeds. Raid 6 uses double parity, so it will have slower write speeds.
