Hello, To begin I am no avid mc player, I play a vareity of games with what free time I have although my time is limited to generally 1 or 2 hours a day. For the record, I am not sure whether or not it is a compliment on my own behalf but I have no lifed several games. My adult life, starting to feel old I will be 30 in October. Now requires the majority of my time. Mortgage, fiancee, I have a 8-year-old little girl, that adores mc I might add. I am also the sole owner of a successful excavation and demolition company. So being a business oriented person, I am always evaluating other avenues of potential, I guess you could say business. Which is why I am here. I find it interesting the amount of youth here, trying to commercialize Minecraft servers. A Lot of what I see is under developed, generic, and sort of depressing. My belief is because, unlike some other games this game appeals more so to the younger spectrum of youth. You guys are broke and having trouble assembling a premium business model, simply for the lack of funds, and understanding of free enterprise. Not to discourage any of you, I do commend, at least the few of you that seem to be honest, diligent, young human beings here, trying to learn key fundamental aspects of business, I do truly admire it. From my perspective I see a business opportunity, one I can share with my daughter, and one where I have very limited competition in the pocket book category. Which is why I am here. However, I have no java experience, I can learn it, however this keeps me from being self sufficient at least for the time being. So I am here, fist full of cash, ready to do something I think would be a really enjoyable experience, develop a premium server to the likes of which I'm certain is rarely seen. I'm here and I must admit, I have no idea who I should be dealing with. I am reading scam sections, sales threads, contacting service providers and what I am seeing is a bunch of kids, projecting that they're a large development team, etc, and upon conversation I am speaking to people I wouldn't trust with fifty bucks, let alone several thousands of dollars. I realize networking some here could remedy my situation, at least some. I guess I could ask. What should I do? Who is it i need to be in conversation with? Before you waste either of our time, understand I have been raised in, have been around, and executed the executive side of business my entire life. Now normally I wouldn't need to express that in literly any other avenue of business I have been down in my entire life, but my goodness, this place is quite unreal. I'm dying to hear opinions, maybe subject matter from those who are capable of helping me and maybe I have not been fortunate enough to come across as of yet. I'm looking for the best of the best, of everything and any input that points me into that direction, I would immensely appreciate it.

So before I address anything you've stated, let me just say that I too am an adult that has numerous responsibilities that leave me with little to no free time to play video games like I used to. Now with that out of the way, here we go!
So you've been a member on this site since Saturday. In the span of five days, you have already come to the conclusion that this site isn't worth your time because you don't trust teenagers. Who you trust is your right as an individual, but coming on here and ranting about it isn't necessary or professional in any regard. Just because you're 30 years old doesn't make you any more trustworthy than a 16 year old. Age doesn't equal trustworthiness/reputation. On top of this, you claim that a vast majority of what people are developing and creating on this site is generic and depressing. My question is, what is it that you are doing on this site that is superior? As far as I can tell, nothing. Coming on here and trashing users about their work without having any actual work to show for yourself is just sad. Also, claiming to have worked on the "executive" side of business means absolutely nothing if you don't back up your claims with feasible proof. For all I know you could be living in your mother's basement eating Cheetos.

Dreams and unfulfilled promises lurk on this forum. Unlike what’d you expect, however, I am one of the “kids”. However, what truly seperates me from what I believe is the consumer market is my willingness to adapt and learn any necessary technical skill to balance out my lack of funds. Effort is not an issue, even with school to balance out. This same situation applies to many members of the community. It’s like anything.
I wish certain of the people who I consider extremely friendly would adapt this same behavior. It’s great to be a good leader. I know that I’ve worked on this skill since I was a toddler and am still learning the do’s and don’ts. However, in an industry where money is key, if you cannot provide a more technical skill your value drops from 100 to 0.
As in regard to the extreme lack of quality: yes.., and no. It depends. Many products are extraordinarily refined whilst some are just upfront deceiving.
As of whom you’d most likely be wanting to be in touch with, I suggest the people from @FatTaco’s business community. There are, like in any other industries, snakes who will want your money more than anything. People like Jaii and Deleted User 116853 are some of the most trustworthy individuals when it comes to managerial. They can teach you the ways of the market as well as the culture of servers.
If you’d like to get a little more technical for the backend side, I’ll gladly take an hour or two explaining basic concepts which are extremely important to learn, know and acknowledge in the creation of any type of software/server/service. Dm me on site and I’ll gladly share my email/telegram/discord/ whatever platform you prefer.
As for mostly setting up an environment for a successful side scheme, just make whatever your daughter wants to play. Odds are, if she likes it, so will the rest of the individuals that match her age group. It’s fantastic to have a perfect candidate for testing and such will rapidly make your server more refined. Kids are brutally honest, make use of that.

I never said this site is a waste of time, or either insinuated that my age somehow made me superior to any given individual on the face of this planet. I infact expressed admiration for the youth here. When I categorized what development I have seen as generic and depressing, I am speaking specifically about what I have seen. Factions, for example, the vast majority of servers have very little to distinguish themselves from the rest. It is not until you find severs like saicopvp, that you see something not entirely egregious, and still the diversity is subtle. The motive behind this thread, was to inherently begin a subject matter on the idea of me doing something here, seeking direction. Not to create quarrel with you or anyone else. Also I would like to ask, what reason would I need to provide proof, validating anything, as it is entirely irrelevant. My oppinion seems to have aggrevated you, that is unfortunate. Your opinion didn't aggravate me, I'm just trying to comprehend how somebody can claim that he is surrounded by mediocrity and yet admit to not knowing anything about creating a server to begin with. What makes you believe a server developed and owned by yourself would fair any better than all the others? At the very least become accustomed to server making before you look down upon others...

Having the money to run a server doesn't mean you'll end up being a good leader/owner.
Go on Spigot to look for developers.
But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if your server is more unique then Hypixel, it's just if people want to play it. I could make the most garbage Skyblock server where I have to generate islands manually and still get more players then someone who has paid thousands for unique features and gamemodes, etc...

Hello - another adult speaking here. I can see your concerns because I would imagine having a kid, a mortgage and bills would make someone skeptical of just throwing cash into a website that seems like a bunch of teenagers. I have been using this website over the last year and I have not been scammed once.
To be honest I haven't gotten scammed on this site yet because I deal exclusively with members who are reputable. I have sold stuff on this website from servers, to cape accounts, to builds, and all transactions that I have done went well. When dealing with someone always make sure that a deal is not too good to be true and make sure it's reasonable. Furthermore, if you still have your doubts, consider using a reputable middleman with deals. If you consider hiring developers, I would suggest forming a non-disclosure agreement with them. Just avoid people with bad reputation on their profiles, people who are toxic, people with a brand new account (e.g. Yourself).
It seems that you're just interested in making a server business from my perspective. If that's the sole motivation for you starting a minecraft server then it won't work out (most likely). I have not heard of a successful minecraft server owned from someone that has played little to no minecraft also. In addition, most of the people on this website do not play bedrock edition for the most part, so finding services in that would be somewhat interesting as bedrock edition considering that it's made in C++ (not sure if plugins are made in it though).
Considering where you are at in life right now I would recommend focusing on working on the business you already have or starting a new one in a different field. If you still want to get into the game and stuff, I would suggest spending quality time with your daughter playing some good ol' minecraft in a co-op world (I wish my parents did back in 2011).

I'm not as active as I once was but, your opinion MCM is concerning.
I would suggest giving MCM a try if you deem it worthy or find another freelancing website that can assist you with your needs.
But, don't come here only after six days disregarding the community and what we've build.
Multiple members on here including myself created some of the biggest companies in MC and IRL today. You just need to know how-to do it.
