The worst part is that if anybody legit needs money for their dog to have surgery and makes a post nobody will believe them

I think in the future we should be more anal about providing and asking for proof, especially on the topic of donations. Medical Bill/Receipts would be absolutely mandatory, and threads asking for donations for medical reasons without proper proof should be immediately shutdown/ignored. And on top of that, perhaps even someone else (other than the person asking for donation) calling in to the hospital to confirm if the Receipt/Bill is legitimate recording their phone call and posting it.

Funny thing is, this wasn't the first gofundme about some sad personal story (which can never be proven) being posted on MCM.

I think its awesome that you can create a gofundme page & thread to fund a new project/business you are trying to start. But when it comes to sad personal stories which can never be proven, it should be against the rules to post them on MCM.

Its a horrible thing for a sick person to trick you into believing a sad made up story, and then them scamming donations off of it.
Not only is the scamming bad, or the trickery... It makes MCM a more negative environment when people are posting hate about these gofundme pages absolutely everywhere.
