Read pms?

when I pm some1 I like to know if they've read the message, and when I don't know if there typing or think about it. It bothers me if I don't know if they've got the message. So when the person has read the message I wish there was an icon or something related so I know they got the message!

It says on the site "last read date" and i really wish it wasn't because it's hard to ignore people when they can see that you read their message lol.
