Dell XPS 15. If you're willing to go a little over your budget, you can get one for around $1550 with an i7 9750H, 16GB Ram, and GTX 1650, and 4K display. You will most likely be able to find this for cheaper around Cyber Monday/Black Friday so the price will be closer to your budget.

I have a higher specced model at around $1700. Game performance is OK. If you're not a competitive gamer or someone that plays very CPU/GPU intensive games then you should be fine. Games like Minecraft + Fortnite will run super well.

I use it for School, Programming, and Light gaming.

The only complaint I have would be the battery. When you choose to game, program, or edit, make sure you always have your charger. The laptop will automatically decrease performance to save battery life. I have a tower at home so I don't really need to game too much on this, so I keep the laptop in battery saver mode at all times to get the longest battery life throughout the day. The battery on battery saver mode lasts roughly 9 hours (only using google chrome) and when I switch to Best Performance mode it lasts roughly 2 and a half hours (only using google chrome).

The computer is also very sleek and thin which is one of the main reasons I purchased it. If you really care about the design you will probably love the look of this laptop.

Overall, the laptop is good. Definitely not the best laptop, but it is certainly a good choice. Judging by your needs, this laptop would definitely be able to handle the load you will put on it and still last a couple of years at the same time.

I went ahead and attached the purchase link below:

I'd go with ASUS, they are a VERY solid brand of computers, as for what the guy said above DO NOT go with HP or Alienware

HP is the most unreliable type of computer ever, some may have good experiences but I have had 3, ranging from business grade to gaming grade (high-end) and they always break or are very unreliable.

Alienware is overpriced, what you could get for $1400 there may cost like $1000 elsewhere.

I used to have a Lenovo Legion laptop. It was a fingerprint magnet, but performed very well and with the M.2 NVMe, it booted up ridiculously quickly.

Also checkout Origin and Digital Storm. You can build your own laptop for a decent price and I've hear relatively good things about them but as always, definitely do your research first.

I know Alienware is overpriced, I was thinking HP or Asus

hm.. Ty
Tbh I’d go for a desktop for such high budget you can get a beast PC for everything literally. If you’re interested I can drop you the specs here. I have a $1300 PC and I use it for everything it’s such a beast and better than laptops honestly.
I got a desktop, I just want a laptop for when I go to other places or school.

I recommend Dell XPS 15 They have a pretty good battery and specs for the price it is also pretty thin
And I don't recommend buying anything that brand themselves as GAMING LAPTOP because most of them have pretty bad battery life if you don't want to constantly search for a plug.
An ROG can only survive around an hour of gaming without a plug and the fps drops drastically without a plug. it also looks bulky and fat
