Hey ImADutchHD,

I have some tips for you so you can start a server!

-To start with, if you want your server to ''go well'' then you should purchase one. Having a Premium server make you gain more trust. Usually, people apply on servers that are promising.

By that, I mean;

1) The server will last.
2) It will be a Plus on their experience.

Now, I know that many people don't have funds. Here are some sites you can purchase a decent quality Minecraft server.

1) https://voodooservers.com/ (recommended)
2) https://www.bisecthosting.com
3) https://server.nitrado.net

-Great!, now that you have a server let's see what else you need. I highly recommend you find a second owner so you can share the cost. If you find one, the second step is to find a Manager. The manager will help you find more Staff Members. Here are my suggestions:

Staff Manager (http://www.mc-market.org/threads/211435/)
Social Media Manager (none)
Support Manager (none)
Moderator(s) [up to five should work fine] (none)
Helper(s) [up to ten should work fine] (none)
Trainee/Trial-Helper (none)

These are a few suggestions for Staff Members.

-You can also find a Server Developer aka System Administrator (usually paid) to set-up the entire server and, maybe, protect it as well. There are also some Faction or Prison 'server bundles' out there you can use to save time.

-Once you have Staff Members and the server is up n' running you have to make a website and a store. I highly recommend you make the website and store before the actual server. There are many cheap website and web store hosting companies out there. For the website I suggest you using enjin but for web store use Buycraft. Your website must include;

1) A Home Page, usually the latest news.
2) Forums.
3) Link to the web store / Page for the web store (enjin includes web store as well).
4) Rules and Regulations Page.
5) Members Page
(optional).

-Once you are done with the website, web store and server it's time to advertise! The best site to do so is mctoplist. There are also many other sites you can advertise.

These are the steps so your server can ''go well''

Best of luck,

Steve A.
