Hi. I'm current building an MMORPG focused on deep class progression, specialization and gear-driven build crafting; inspired by games like Path of Exile. This is a very long-term, systems heavy project; nowhere near being a simple minigame network. The goal is to make a Vanilla-feeling but highly customizable MMORPG with strong architecture so it can expand in the future and perform at scale.
Overview
What I'm Looking For
At it's foundation, I need passionate or knowledgeable Java developers (any experience level welcome; from intermediate onward) who wish to build a complex interlocking system in a simple way. Having experience working with Minestom is a huge plus, but is nowhere near required if you're quick to learn. Nearly everything is custom built, so being familiar with performance-oriented code and even-driven patterns is valuable.
Beyond just Java developers, I want to expand the team with:
Much of the project is very system-driven: where much of Minecraft's combat is overhauled; and skill trees, player progression need to fit together cleanly and scale to size.
Compensation & Expectations
This is currently an unpaid passion project.
I'm investing my own time as the lead programmer, and I'm looking for collaborators who wish to share the vision of building something ambitious and technically deep.
If the project grows sustainable (e.g., through donations, Patreon or inevitable storefronts), I'm very open to revenue sharing with core contributors based off their impact and involvement. Otherwise, I may be able to find ways to compensate people for their time.
Despite this, commitment is very flexible (e.g., ranging from mere hours or minutes of your time per week to regular contributions), but consistency and communication matters a lot in a long-term creation like this.
Current State
I have a (slightly outdated yet) detailed Game Design Document (GDD), core systems outlined, direction set and active work on the bare infrastructure in spec. We're early in progression, but moving pretty steadily.
If any of this sounds exciting and you'd like to contribute (as a developer, designer, or other role), feel free to reach out on Discord! Even if you aren't a programmer, I'm sure there's something here for you!

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I look forward to potentially building something great together!
Overview
- All servers will be built on Minestom (lightweight, modern Minecraft server library), excluding Lobbies and Proxies.
- Most core code/infrastructure will be written in Java, TypeScript, and potentially Go.
- Game content and logic will be built on top of a scripting layer (done in TypeScript for easier iteration), and the server itself will function more like an engine.

Beyond just Java developers, I want to expand the team with:
- Game designers / system designers -- Help flesh out skills, progressions, class trees, economy/resource system, etc. (The GDD already exists, but it needs iteration and creative input);
- Additional developers -- People specialized in areas like system design, instancing, networking, or scripting;
- Script developers/content team creators -- People comfortable with TypeScript or building similar game content on top of core infrastructure (once the scripting layer is solid);
- Builders -- The general pride of Minecraft, people with creative talent and whims that have experience with tools like Axiom, WorldEdit, and more;
Much of the project is very system-driven: where much of Minecraft's combat is overhauled; and skill trees, player progression need to fit together cleanly and scale to size.
