Heard a lot about both, the majority saying OVH is better due to reliables networking, however most of these claims are just anecdotal experiences, has any other research been done comparing the two?

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I'd like to hear some more about this as well. I often hear the opposite: that OVH's network is less reliable than other providers such as reliablesite. I personally have ongoing rentals from both and don't have any complaints about either. I've used OVH since 2017 and reliable since 2019. Realiablesite definitely has an advantage for its quick support. I had a problem with a new 9900k machine that would not turbo past 2.4Ghz. I had a response within minutes and they began working to find the problem. It turned out to be a faulty bios version.
As for ddos protection I haven't had problems with either, although my understanding is that OVH provides a more effective layer 7 mitigation for game hosting.

I've mainly used OVH just since that has been my go-to, I've tested Reliable and they're good too. Mainly the only difference I've seen is the amount of DDoS protection that is offered, OVH offers much more (Even though the amount they state is for their entire network.). Both supports were great for me, but many people complain that OVHs support is horrible but as I said, I haven't had any issues with them. One thing I do love about Reliable is that they do offer more CPU options for their dedicated servers.

Just my 2 cents.

OVH protection currently gets destroyed by any modern booter. ReliableSite has good hardware, bad protection. Just get yourself a nice mitigation proxy (TCPShield) and you'll be good to go.
