I personally believe they should just be removed. I don't see the benfit in people with 50 msgs having the title "Known Member." It could create a miss conception that they some how are for new members and it is really just not needed.

For anyone interested, this is the actual title ladder:
0 posts - New Member
25 - Member
35 - Active Member
45 - Well-Known Member
55 - Experienced Member
65 - Dedicated Member

I'm not against having a mere one or two titles, or if you guys want to suggest a whole new set of titles and post requirements to attain them, please do suggest them.
I am in agreement that this current set is pitiful and more misleading than useful.

Perhaps instead of having it based on message amounts, it could be changed based on reputation on the site?

I have to disagree with you, I do not believe that the source of confusion is the title system and barely anyone even looks at them. As stated above, people already put "THE MOST TRUSTED ..." in their titles so how is that any different than someone achieving a different title for messages put?[DOUBLEPOST=1544026105][/DOUBLEPOST]
Reputation would be farmed with spotify accounts, as it is already, + I do not think it's fair for someone with many messages but little rep to not be as well known as someone with 0 messages but tons of rep.
Rarely ever see someone put that in their title furthermore, it's kinda useless in general.[DOUBLEPOST=1544026213][/DOUBLEPOST]And if the website say it instead of themselves it does possibly make it so people believe it more

I personally do think that they can change it to something more fun or comical that doesn't really base it off you being known in the community.[DOUBLEPOST=1544026459][/DOUBLEPOST]
r u being serious?
Well I think the idea is valid but obviously isn't great bc of how broken the rep system is but it could be a factor and or possible addition.

Sort of like Minecraftforums.net's vanity title ladder?
0 - Newbie
1 - Newly Spawned
2 - Out of the Water
10 - Tree Puncher
40 - Carpenter
70 - Stone Miner
100 - Coal Miner
150 - Zombie Killer
250 - Iron Miner
350 - Gold Miner
500 - Redstone Miner
700 - Diamond Miner
900 - Lapis Lazuli Collector
1200 - Obsidian Miner
1500 - Void Walker
2000 - Nether Resident
2500 - Ghast Hunter
3000 - Glowstone Miner
4000 - Blaze Extinguisher
5000 - Portal Expert
5556 - Creeper Destroyer
6500 - End Dweller
8000 - Enderman Ender
10000 - Enderdragon Slayer
15000 - Farlander
20000 - Beyond the Horizon

42 - The answer to life, the universe and everything
64 - Full stack
314 - Mathematical Dessert
404 - ERROR 404: User Not Found
413 - Stuck at Home
666 - Mark of the Beast
1337 - IRC HACKER
2001 - A Space Odyssey
5555 - Creeper
9001 - Over Nine Thousand
9999 - Dragon Egg

However, I'm against making our title ladder Minecraft themed, simply because it doesn't promote professionalism.
Again, open to ideas.

I believe general comical Minecraft could be to Minecrafty for some users. I try to create one when I can think about it

Instead of reputation/messages which can be manipulated or low quality and farmed, there’s the option of basing it off of trophy points (everyone cares about those...right?) as it factors in more things including message count, reputation, post reactions, and tons more.

You wouldn’t buy a product just because there’s a commercial, and more commercials just makes it more annoying, you also have to factor in quality, brand name, cost, and more.

250 posts and 45 reactions - Active Member
etc...

and the highest being like 1500 posts and 250 reactions - Well known member

In my opinion the entire system is unnecessary and could lead to confusion. We're only using the user title ladder feature because it's built-in to XenForo. If it wasn't built in, we wouldn't have suggestions to add it because it doesn't add anything to the site and isn't even particularly fun with the way we have it set up.

What's our thoughts on removing the user title ladder completely and instead just keeping it as "Member"?

Or maybe just "Member" and if you have 200 posts "Active Member"?

It's unnecessary as you can just set a custom title.

Premium and Supreme can, yes.

Having 200 posts doesn't really denote activity - I'm not sure if it's possible but default should be "Member", and if you post perhaps 10 times in a week, or 30 times a month, you get "Active Member"? Perhaps this may encourage spam posting, I'm not sure - swings and roundabouts.

Your x times a week isn't "monitorable" by default on Xenforo so I doubt they'd add it, and it's not really needed either way. Titles can be based off of achievements points perhaps and not just messages.

By default, but I'm sure if Mick really did want to change the titles system, he'd have it developed perhaps.

But yes, achievement points is a good idea because the more you have generally, the more active you are in general.

The title system is absolutely useless in the grand scheme of things, and alongside this the post requirements in order to obtain these titles can be done in under 15 minutes on the site if you actually wanted to try. I say just completely remove the system altogether. If people want an actual title they can purchase it.
