Remove Buyer, Seller, and Trader Titles in Reputation GUI

As we all know, the reputation system has loopholes and does not work in the way it is intended to. It is meant for leaving opinions on members' profiles based on experiences with them. In many situations, buying, selling, or trading are not endured when the desire to leave reputation is manifested. I suggest that we either remove these three titles or add another option for users that have only chatted with the user they are leaving reputation on.

Just because im a Shit Poster doesnt mean ill scam, but if people give me negative rep, ill be a thread to some people.

You know, why dont people use the Profile Posts for opinions, whilr the Reputation system for deals and such.

Since the rep system was officially claimed to be for general rep, not just trade rep, this would make sense.
If it somehow wasn't and we misinterpreted everything, then this is the perfect time to say so.

While reputation can be left on a users profile based on past deals with them, there are other reasons that people may desire to leave reputation, such as having certain conversations with a user or seeing certain behavior. While it seems that people are using the reputation system for vouching based on previous deals, I believe that it would be more effective to leave a vouch on a users profile rather than on reputation. All of the vouches on your profile page could be gathered into a folder, like how most users have on this forums, and displayed on the bottom of threads or in your signature. Users can then leave reputation saying that they have dealt with the specified user before, whilst already having left a vouch on their profile. Then, users that haven't dealt with the specified user can leave reputation on said user, but then it doesn't get mixed in with all of the vouches.

I think if the rep system is to contain opinions on a user it should be separate from deals done.
Why would my trading reputation plummet because someone thinks I am an asshole?

The reputation system has been deemed as general reputation by multiple staff members including Mick. No, I do not have screenshots of messages from SB, but that is what it is meant for. If you think it should be designated for deal reputation, you should make a suggestion because I would agree with you. However, since the reputation system is for general reputation on MC-Market, I feel that there should be no titles associated with reputation left on a users profile.

Yes, it was supposed to be for deal related things only and we were going to to have strict rules in place but unfortunately it devolved into a system where people can say any negative thing about anyone if you don't like them.

It was supposed to be: you do a deal with someone, you leave feedback, just like a marketplace should function. Drama/bitter relations with other people have no place in the rep system.

I always see reputation reports of <insert wild accusation here> with no proof and the person who got -repped reports it. Unfortunately, I see these reports denied all the time. IMO it's innocent until proven guilty and you either post proof or I remove the -rep. This will either 1. Make them post proof or 2. (Which is most people) make them back off because the -rep reason was greatly exaggerated.

Another recent example of reputation system abuse I've seen is when Coco said she'd post a selfie in chat or something, but didn't get around to doing it, so 3 desperate lonely guys decide to -rep her.

If we're going to do it right, we should require a thread link/screenshot of the deal to be posted in a separate box when leaving rep. In addition to the three deal-related boxes, a fourth one should be added titled something like "Complaint" for bad things one has done to a user here. In order for someone to be repped this way, they must have broken a rule on here against someone else and it must be severe. I'm considering making a separate suggestion just for this, because people seem to think that they can -rep someone over any tiny thing.
