If people really need a loan that badly they can go to their bank. If they are under 18 I legally do not trust them with loans. Several users get scammed because of this. Fuck it a staff scammed for loans.

Its so fucking irresponsible, why are you giving loans to teens, when you almost know. They don't have the means to pay it back. 9/10 times, if the loan amount is significant enough, they'll be in debt. Meaning credit history is down the drain, that car they wanted, nope not gonna happen.

I think they should just raise the requirements. I feel like its too easy for anyone to get 10 rep. Also, people should have a limit to the amount they should be able to loan. Along with this, I think there should be a certain application to become someone who can give loans and same thing with people who request loans. I think they should have to fill out an application to request a loan. The current system makes it way too easy to scam
fax, the worst section for scamming on mcm, for fucks sake two or three former staff on mcm have gotten banned only from this section, Harrison and BucketOfSloths and some other guy i think, cant remember tho. fr i dont think it should be removed, but definitely reformed for sure to have a more positive impact and some sense of security rather than just reputation and 'gOoDs aND sErvIcEs' on paypal.
if staff be getting banned on loans imagine the chances of normal users scamming- extremely high and risky, sometimes a high payback is too good to be true

Honestly, your not wrong and you have a total valid argument. But for some people this is their specialty on MCM what if we just limit to who exactly can make these loans of run them even more so we don't have a bunch of low reps trying to get into it?
yeah ive seen all of his threads, hes appealing his 50$ loans nearly 8 months later... imo he is kinda getting specially treated but im not gonna comment on that lol. however my point was he was banned on that section, and it wasnt a mistake he was fully aware of what he was doing?

(jk)Just remove the section. If you need ID then that could be the possibility of doxing. Another idea is to make it so you have to sign a fucking contract and you need to be 18+ and provide ID to mcm before accessing the site.
Yes, people get scammed often in the loans section, however it is entirely up to someone whether they want to loan to someone or not. And even if you use the argument "well even staff and high rep people have scammed!!!1!" - then don't give out loans. There's nothing forcing you to take/give loans. Don't like the section? Ignore it.

As someone who is an active loaner on this forum - I highly disagree.
I make quite a bit from loaning people and I wouldn't want to stop that. MCM puts plenty of notifications warning potential loaners of the risk associated with offering such a service, it isn't like many do not know what they are getting into. It is also exceedingly difficult to scam a loan, due to the ease of regaining the funds such that the scammer doesn't get to keep the money in the end by contesting the charge.
Many users need help sometimes to get back on their feet and it isn't fair to disregard them as potential scammers. By your logic I should shut down my design service too because there is a risk of me getting scammed. It simply is void of common sense to remove such a prominent section of the market because there is a risk of being scammed. The accounts section and the middleman sections have much bigger and more often occurring scams than the loans section does, is anyone suggesting we remove those? There are many more dangerous parts to the market and we must simply accept it is a risk of dealing and offering our services - there are children on here that are willing to receive a ban for a financial gain of 40 bucks and we must simply accept that is the reality. Scams occur everywhere, all the time, if we removed the loans section because scams occur there, we might aswell remove the entire market section of the forum.
No. Just no. This is an incredibly ignorant and misinformed statement. The majority of users loan requests on here do not exceed $150, most banks loan upwards of $2000 and do not loan less than that. You also need a fair amount of creditworthiness to request a loan from an established financial institution - given the age range of adult users on this forum, many would not meet the credit score needed.
If I need a few extra bucks to buy a server rank or whatnot and know I don't get paid for a few days, are you wanting me to find a trustworthy loaner and fill out applications and identity verification that can take days and weeks to fulfill? No, ofcourse not, its insane. You clearly have never received a loan from a financial institution if you are thinking your bank will fulfill what otherwise would be done by an MCM loaner.
