I think we should remove the manual approval of posts in scam reports. I think a lot of people post insightful things only to have M6Gaming remove it. If the post happens to be off topic they can remove it, and if things get out of control like the Affixes/Aschorren incident, we can make it manually approved.

Let me know what you think, and as always, if you disagree; please state why. Thanks!

You guys are not scam report staff, how would you know how much off-topic stuff gets posted in a scam report? (or how many messages they disapprove)

I disagree with this suggestion. I agree with what Shattered said as well as this is a step for privacy. Some people get so mad that they want to leak every last bit of information from a user that scammed them. Manually approving the messages ensures that no phone numbers or home addresses are leaked.

On my particular scam report M6 removed relevant posts defending me.

Unless the post is complete nonsense it should be allowed.

-1 that would triple the work for M6Gaming, as there will be alot more messages for him to read.
Also, it would make it alot harder to control.

I see no good reason to do this. at no point have I seen the outcome go differently from what I expected it to go with my own posts. And I doubt everyone that'll post will have something useful to say. considering the amount of shitposters on this website, I feel like most people would not post actual useful information.

It's better to have M6 decide which posts are relevant and allow those, than to have each scam report with half the active community sharing their opinions and m6 having to remove all useless posts after the fact.

Not to mention that people doxing others may be visible for quite some time until m6 can remove it.

Useful posted information is never removed. I'm now going to pull up the first few deleted posts in scam reports.

I can vouch for [USERNAME], he wouldn't chargeback without good reason.
[USERNAME] you are the best!
Totally Agree
+1 for [USERNAME]. Great guy, I know for a fact he wouldn't scam.

Imo, allowing this would make scam reports really seem cluttered and full of unneeded information.

This is only a fraction. The amount of off topic and non contributing things people post is crazy.

Aside from that there's still many things that are relevant that M6 removes.

If it's claims and accusations by a 3rd irrelevant person without any proof, he has the right to remove them.

I've never posted on or in the scam report section, but if posting a new scam report takes a manual approval I think it should be automated and either is forced to use an Unapproved prefix or is posted in an Unapproved Subforum so that way if M6 or whoever isn't online and there is someone scamming everyone they can we can let the community know.

It's not about approval times (not this time, anyway). Every time someone posts into an already-open scam report, that post must be approved.

Oh... yeah I think maybe just report any off topic or useless posts. If you say the rules are strict for that section people will follow the rules or be banned. That's just a tad bit too Big Brother imo

I disagree, but M6Gaming should really stop being to picky with what posts he allows. As Tulip stated, he removes useful stuff for no reason. I think a better suggestion would be he has to give an explanation for each post he removes.
my post exposing scarce hosting got removed :(

Personally, I've had times where some useful posts of mine are removed - but most of the time if it is a useful post that I have posted, M6 approves it. I don't see a reason why we should remove the moderator approval - knowing the MCM community, that would be chaotic.
