Hi, I’m South Korea and I’m well-known in the Minecraft Accounts section.
I buy and sell accounts to make money and there’s one thing I constantly have to do which no-one even cares about, migration date.

When listing to sell an account, you must write the migration date which no-one does anyway. No-one does this properly and I constantly see “Migration date is wrong” in every thread.

First of all, I don’t see why it’s needed. I think it should be replaced for:
Email changable?
Previous scam account?
Security questions?

Or something else. There’s not much to say except to remove the migration date option as no-one really listens to it and something more useful could be added in to replace it.

Thanks for reading,
-Korea

I was also planning to make some sort of suggestion like this one. In my opinion the migration date does matter. Why? Because you can check if the account has been secure for a while or not (a recently migrated account isn't really secure what-so-ever) and I think that we should enforce it more. I saw Doge was enforcing the migration date to cape accounts back in October instead of people putting a random one (example is 2019 or above). So we shouldn't remove it and just enforce it again as it should be. I always, always put the correct migration date when I'm selling a account.

Usually the seller states if it secure or not, but I see your point. Also, if an account is newly migrated maybe the question could be different as in
"Is the account secure or in any way in danger?"
Therefore it's more of a broad question and people can't just lie about the migration date or put random dates in.

The seller will always say it's secure (obviously followed by a nice TOS to get rid of chargebacks and reports). The Migration date is just a reminder that the actual account buyer didn't take back his account (it's secure)

Can anyone even tell me the purpose of this?
To replace it with a better and more informative question

A more broader and informative question would help MUCH more. In lots of posts there are messages like "Owner history?", "Email changable?" etc.

you are very right. More information is always better, but there is nothing that prevents from giving more info now. The market regulates itself, and if somebody has more trust (and gets more profit because of that), people will follow him, and because of that, that would be the standard. I don't think we need to interfere, just let time take it's toll.

I agree with this. I'll move this to pending until we make everyone aware that we're enforcing the rules.

Thanks for the suggestion

Reading my response to old suggestion threads makes me wince.

I'm not going to be making any changes to this particular part of the site at the moment, as there are other areas which deserve more focus and are moreso the direction I wish to bring MC-Market in the next few years. I want to encourage more activity in sections other than this one and so won't be making the suggested change.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion
