We (Cool kids), purchased Premium/Supreme in order to get rid of the advertisements, while supporting this site.

We come on, and we see this server management advertisement, which 90% of the whole market doesn't even need.

Let's take Hypixel, for example, when Minecrafts EULA came out. The ranks still remained intact, but all ranks purchased AFTER THE EULA would abide by the new rules.

I understand that, YES, policy can be changed. But it's a low blow to see this happen over $10 and $25 ranks.

I understand that, YES, the site needs the money to run, but the server probably costs about 120 a month, maybe a little more depending on certain specs. Mick probably makes more than 120 a month from the site. At least I'd hope..

Regardless. This sort of debate shouldn't have to be held. Mick is grabbing money, and this is just a poor way to go about it.

And BTW, PayPal is far from a legal-following company. Ever heard of a permanent limitation? Yeah, you get bent over and fucked with a 6 month wait time to withdraw money from your account. You find that legal? Having your money held hostage for 6 months? Regardless.. My 2c:
To all those people saying that you can just remove it with Adblock, you are right. My problem with this is it shouldn't be there in the first place. I think the advertisement is too large, but even aside from that, it's in a very unappealing location. Whenever a user joins this site for a first time they are going to be greeted with a "in-your-face" advertisement. One last point, this could also be looked upon as a gateway, once we allow this to become the "norm", something more obstructive could come into play without notice.

Not trying to start an argument, just stating my opinion.

After Affixes ad expires, no one is going to buy an ad there since a ton of people blocked it. Therefore really no point of having it there anymore

I really don't see how this is a big deal. The ad isn't intrusive in the slightest and doesn't even look half bad.

I'd never seen this ad until this was brought up (adblock hue), but now that I see it I can really see how it'd be annoying. It's not a huge ad, its just in a really awkward position on the screen which makes it a lot more annoying than it should be.

Until this gets removed, adblock is the best bet

I agree with you, however, it can't be removed if you're browsing on mobile. If Affixes bought an advertisement, then he should get it where it belongs, which is in the advertisements section, like where K3's advertisement is. Just because you're a staff member, that doesn't mean you should get more advantages (in advertisements, etc) to the other members.

Yes, it did state that perks/ranks/privileges can change at any time without warning.
No you can't legally charge back and win. Because you agreed, by using the site, to the fair usage policy agreement.
And no, setting an "option" isn't the best option, because that would require a developer, time, and money...

Yes, the policy was added about a long time after we got ranks here. Sure thing they can just change the rank descriptions and perks without telling us, and in result, many members will leave this forum.

All the staff reading this, there are over 60 votes to say you should get rid of it, I'm not understanding why Affixes gets the more "supreme" perk than other staff members, having his service being on the fold (thanks rocket for that term). This is just like when the xenforo upgrade fucked up and the forums went down for 3 days. We get that you can do anything you want to the site, however, doing something that affects the COMMUNITY will make you lose your traffic, and will cause long-time members to leave. So I'd think you'd want to relook over the decision you made, and realise that you guys fucked up.

Advertisements. Every user must pay to have their advertisement up. I believe just because you are staff you shouldn't get special treatment. I have no problem with the staff but I have a huge problem and a pet peeve when it comes to favortism.

Before you pull up MCM Terms of Service, start by not lieing first because then the terms are voided in my eyes. I vote that the ad is removed from the top of shoutbox due to him being staff and placed on the side like everyone else. I also vote to show proof of payment for the ad Affixes/K3 Posted to prove the users of the community it is not favoritism. Unless for some reason, there's an option to have it above shoutbox now? What exactly are you talking about? My personal opinion is that I'm not a fan of the advertisement, but I also have a responsibility to represent MC-Market's interests as well. That's all I was trying to here.
