Nah, disagree. Waste of staff resources. If anything maybe they should quit changing the profile image of everyone who's banned since it could potentially get rid of useful information. Say they come back and use the same profile image or something. Say some new member coincidently uses the same image two days after someone is banned. They seem like a scammer because of bad luck. Might be good to have keep the face of the scammer up for all to see. I think the slash through their name and big thing saying that they were banned and the reason why is enough.

Of course you'll disagree. You're one of the people using the profile picture..

200th post hype
I honestly changed my image to this in the first place because I don't agree with everyone who is banned having their profile image changed and this is my minor way of fucking with it since its a dumb idea.

When people go to prison their mugshots aren't erased, why is the image that defines someone erased here? It adds a level of of sketchiness that is unnecessary.

I remember people by pictures more so than name. If I have someone added on skype I connect their profile picture on here to their skype to remember who they are. If they get banned for scamming, well, then I'm fucked since their image on here is gone. I can't be the only person with that problem. It impedes remembering who someone is and remembering who a scammer is can be important.

+1, People who do this are annoying, LIKE FUCKING Deleted User 15396
Maybe we do it because it's annoying Mcm changes people's picture when they are banned. I spent two minutes today trying to remember who the fuck afterboner was because his profile picture was changed to the banned logo. I had to think of people who might get in trouble for excessive violations of the rules, go to threads posted that I remembered by three different members to see if they were banned, then come up with a mnemonic to remember his name by. I still don't remember the actual name, but I know its something that sounds like afterboner. It would've been much easier if his picture were still there.

I think the only reason why they have this banned picture is because people used to change their profiles to inappropriate pictures right before they got banned.

I guess that's probably why they do it, but then it just seems like they are too lazy to remove a few pictures and would rather inconvenience everyone.

If you wanna keep your profile picture don't get yourself banned. Simple as.
You don't understand the argument. First off, the whole thread is about if I should be able to have this profile picture, so it's literally a debate on whether I should lose the picture without being banned. Then my argument is that its annoying seeing the banned logo on other people's profiles. So that response made no sense on two levels. Work on that reading comprehension.

I personally think it's whatever, they are just being too unprofessional to work with anyone.

Oh please, people's idea of what qualifies as professional on here is so laughable compared to any other standard. A picture of a copyrighted sega character on your profile is professional while an uncopyrighted image saying banned isn't. In real life, I could probably use my profile image as a logo for a company while you couldn't use yours without getting sued, but mine is the less professional one. But hey, you also paid the site $10 so I guess you are more professional because you did that too.

Yeah, that was somewhat a tangent, but it needs to be said. The point is there is a general theme where people mistake good aesthetics with good functionality when in reality the aesthetics are hollow and have nothing underneath. This banned logo is a good example. Sure, it looks nice the first couple of times you see it, but it actually sacrifices functionality. And instead of recognizing that people call out the aesthetic choice of picking the picture as a profile image when in reality the problem lies with the functionality of the logo being compromised. I've never seen a forum do this to the profile image of banned users. If no one else does it, why is that? Maybe because problems like this arise.

I just changed it because I was obsessed with Sonic at the time. Also I got advice from people that if you have a character that represents you, you are more likely to find someone with the same obsession. So whenever I do or not have a Sega character doesn't really matter.

Although if you have a "banned" profile picture, people who are new won't go look at your profile because they will automatically think you're banned so then there would be no point dealing with a banned user. Basically you get less opportunities, but that isn't my business.

P.S I didn't buy premium, a fan/friend did.

I find when I think like this specifically on this forum I'm often way too optimistic, but I'll risk it anyway.

I don't think people are that stupid. There are two clearly visible ways to tell if a user is banned or not and one unclear way that's unreliable. If people cannot recognize either of those ways and go solely based on the unreliable way- well, then I'm going to have more problems with them in a business deal than them thinking they can't access my page. I'll send them a schematic, they won't know how to open it, they will chargeback because they don't know how to load a schematic into their world, file a scam report, waste my time, etc. That would be about on the same level of stupidity. If anything, maybe it's a good filter.

You do you and I do me. Doesn't really bother me, just I think I'd be more confused at first.
