Renting out #5 Slot - 10/h - Cheap and Strangely Efficient!

The prices and procedures will be listed below, since the spot is #5 I will negotiate prices if you people think the price right now is not appropriate. (MysticParadox owns the first week on mc-mp, so until the 25th this thread will be dormant)

I rented a full day, 24hrs, and I cannot recommend this.
Maybe I didn't completely understand how slots work.

My banner was put up, my IP was put up, but if you clicked on the banner it went to a different server page, a different server icon was used, and the details for the server were not of mine.

I also attempted to get the OP to change my banner to the gif version about 30min after the transaction, and I have not heard from him since, nor was it been switched.

I averaged about 4-8 players joining per hour.
With a very high turn-around rate. As far as I know, 0 players stayed.

I deeply regret purchasing slot time, and I will not be dealing with OP again.
He was nice, and patient with me, but overall it's just nothing like I thought it would be.

He should have explained that he'd be leaving his server in place, and just putting my banner up.
Maybe I should have known this, but I don't see why I would be expected to, or how I would have known.

What was the player starting base before you got this?

Low, my complaint is not in the player count though, I did not expect to get hundreds of players and have them all, or even any of them stay.

But I have a feeling I would have got more players, if my server was advertised correctly.
Even the TYPE of server was still set to OP's, so players came on asking for Factions and Adventure, when that's not what we offer.

Solistica's server is designed to a very niche audience and truthfully it would take a extensive advertisement campaign to fully explain what his server has to offer.

A banner wasn't in his best interests overall and the funds could of been otherwise invested into a bigger campaign.

Solistica, your server has been greatly improved by the recent updates but it stills needs a big leap in the right direction to make it to the greater public.

Anyone who is looking to buy a banner in the future should weigh out it's capability, it's cost and fully understand what your server looks like to the public. Simplicity is often the most valuable feature of a growing server, unless, like I previously stated, you have an advertisement campaign large enough to cover large features which may seem overwhelming to the average Minecraft player.

I'm sorry for the poor amount of players you have received. But you did not give me any information to put on the post whatsoever, your banner was also behind the current styles (3D Animated) If you would improve these factors, I could give you a few free hours to test again.

I appreciate your outlook on this Internet, you're right too.
I believe I have learned a valuable lesson from this though, and I do not plan to give up, until I have a successful campaign.

The server is definitely worthy of success.

GLWS in this thread, I'll be keeping an eye on some banner spots for future projects, possibly keeping notes of the success they bring others
