When adding rep evidence, allow imgur, gyazo etc links so we don't have to save the image to our desktop everytime. mc-market is full of these types of links so it would be very convenient.

They probably did this on purpose, then they don't have to rely on a third party / or the scammer takes the image down if you include their link.
I'll just suggest, if you don't want to keep saving to your Desktop, just keep a folder full of evidence, because I'm sure it'll serve you well in the future. (Just in case you get scammed or an issue arises that warrants your local evidence)

Good point. Maybe only allow Gyazo and Imgur? I don't know.
Couldn't they just download the image from the URL and store it themselves anyway?
As others have said, the reason that we require proof is provided through attachments is that we can guarantee that they'll never be removed by the user or reported to be removed from imgur or gyazo, or another service.

If uploading an image as proof for a reputation is too much effort for you, maybe the reputation system isn't for you. It takes 5 seconds to do.
