I've come to you all today, to bring out something that has constantly been bothering me here on MCM. The issue of "rep" being confused with ratings. No. Ratings can be very, VERY, inaccurate, and seeing as all of our "reputable" members are the ones with high ratings (Skill Doge Speed, etc.), this isn't the fairest way to run things. Let me put it simply. For a vouch copy on some random thread, a user needs to be above 500 ratings. This throws everything off balance. I come along, with a moderately good post-to-rating ratio, but then another user with a horrible post to rating ratio, but enough to claim the giveaway. On top of that, all of my ratings are likes, while all of his are "funny". The winnings would go to him, while if we had Vouches mean reputation, I would have received the Vouch Copy. I mean, knowing that people like your posts and all is really fun. Ratings are awesome, and they can stay, but they shouldn't really be the deciding factor in deals or vouch copies. In addition, ratings often tells "who goes first," but a scammer could be hidden underneath those ratings, for all we know. Obviously not every high reputation member is a scammer, most of them probably are not, but hey, what are the chances?
I really just posted this to see what MCM thinks about this. It has been super annoying to see the amount of ignorant people offering "Vouch Copies" to people with 400 funny ratings. I love it.
