Yesterday I've seen a thread that was totally trashed with absolute garbage. The user spammed poog's thread with thousands of characters. Rather than waiting for a staff member to remove it, just simply make a limit to the amount of characters you can use in a reply (similar to Twitter).

I mean only replies to threads and not the threads themselves of course.

All feedback is appreciated :p

EDIT: Instead of making a general limit, make it only limit newer members without upgrades.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Or, you could limit the symbols/characters new members are allowed to post?

No thanks. I'd like to be able to say my thing without having to count characters or spam posts, thank you very much.
This is far more easily solved by simply cracking down harder on people that do shit like this.
Sure, it sucks that his thread was spammed by this skid, but the posts will be removed eventually, and people can still react to his thread without the spam stopping them.[DOUBLEPOST=1510157757][/DOUBLEPOST]

That might be a bit better, setting a 1000 character limit for people under 50 posts or something.

Yeah I don't mean like a 140 character limit, way more than that for sure. I know you like to say a lot of detailed stuff, so this would only be good for new members I guess. Thanks for the input!

I don't like this simply because of threads where you are applying for something

Fair point, maybe there could be whitelists for certain sections.

In all honesty, I still think it's a bit of a strong reaction. This is 1 skid doing something, and while putting a slight limit on new members couldn't hurt too much, it should only be done if this becomes a repeating issue.

Fair point once again! Although a bit of a correction, there were actually two people, Tully and Fo. The message spams took me a solid minute to scroll through on my phone lmao

So this happened once and instantly restrictions need to be implemented?

I don't think this change is required until it actually starts becoming a common issue.

Eh I suppose you're right, I just thought "this happened once and it shouldn't have happened, so how can we fix it?" Then I made this thread. In my opinion the first time was bad enough, they must've used about 10k characters for each reply (not even joking, ask poog). But if it happens again, something has to be done.
