So at the minute if someone bids on a thread lets say $60. Then a week later somebody accepts the bid but the person who bid doesn't have the money any longer as he bought a different account. Then they can bring it to a scam report and the person has to take 60 warning points (1 month ban). So in some cases thats fair enough like if they don't pay 1 day after they bid. But when its like 2 weeks it's kinda unfair to the player.

I think the rules should be more clear on this in how long a player should have to wait before he can retract or not pay for his bid.

Agreed, some people don't set an end date, or set a rediculas one like a year. Does this mean I could bid on an account, forget about it, then a year later have someone demanding I pay for an account I can't even remember bidding on?

From the rules:

5.3 Do not offer to buy an item or service if you intend not to pay for said item or service.

So yeah, this is already a thing and we already have a punishment for it.

I know that but I'm saying that we should change the punishment because it's dumb to get warning points 2 months after I bod

He means that if you bid on something 2 weeks ago, and finally get accepted, but since it was 2 weeks ago, and you bought something else, the rules should be loosened for the bidder.

Because the people making these bids likely had full intention of purchasing it at the time that they made the offer.
It's already not on the level of scamming because nobody lost anything.
The longer the seller chooses to wait after receiving an offer before saying, "yes, you owe me that" is up to them.
Certainly we should encourage those who make the offer to go through with it in the end, but perhaps lower the amount of warning points to something more reasonable. 30? Let's compromise.

Maybe a new rule on the maximum about of time an auction could go on for?

>$20 : 1 Week
$20 - 100 : 2 Weeks
$100 + : 4 Weeks

(That's just an example, but you should get the general idea)

Look, it is against the rules to bid on something and then not buy it, no matter the end date. I do think that we need to restrict how long auctions can be though.

If its been suggested, and you think "we need to restrict how long auctions can be" them I'm sure you can implement it. All that needs to be done is a small section added to the rules about actions and how long they can go on for.

What of retracting bids? I feel like you should be able to retract your bid up to a certain period before bidding ends.

In my opinion you should be able to retract your bid before it was noted by the original poster.

That could be anything from a few seconds, to days before the seller notes the bid. It could do with been a set length of time. Maybe 6 hours. Long enough to have second thoughts but not too long for it to be a problem retracting it.

mhm. Mind making a suggestion for that? I'd love to get more community input on how long people think is a good amount of time to be able to retract your bid.
