Hello Mc-Market,

For a while now it has bugged me that in the member's section of the forum there is no place for members who are highly reputable and don't get noticed for it or get any credit for being reputable. This has bugged me for about 3 weeks because I was about to do a trade with someone who was very new to the site and didn't know what the little green positive rep box means and then starts having a go at you for not going first.

Firstly, I think that there should be a place where new members who are less than 5 days old have to read through the whole reputation guidelines and section to get the basic baseline of what a reputation is if they didn't know or understand fully what it does. However there will be those Mc-Market users who are well aware of what the reputation system is and how to do it and to that I say "Teach Others that don't know" and also that they'll understand how annoying it is to be in any situation and be very well known by everybody and not get noticed or ask on their opinion on the certain situation.

Another thing I suggest that you, Mick could add to the website is a place where a member's with 20+ rep are added to a list in the 'MEMBERS' section and under a drop down of 'Trusted Members', in which you Mick get to pick who goes in there. For example, Lars_1511 would be reputable enough for this and could go in there.

This brings me onto my last point to help the staff with what they do in their ranks or staff positions on Mc-Market, I personally think that a 'Trusted' rank should be added to the staff positioning rank table. With the 'Trusted' rank the chosen user would have permissions added to their accounts in which they could help the staff monitor the members who have been asking for vouch copies on threads and not in a Pm(i am a culprit) and then report it to staff members. As from my experience not all 'Vouch copy' requests get noticed and sometimes get missed out.

This is my opinion and this is what I think however you may think the complete opposite and I agree that that's your opinion and I will not question it

Regards
Mat

Noone is truly "reputable" at any time someone could just scam that's how life is. 20+ rep isn't hard, just sell a couple accounts or something boom. There would be a couple members who I know are quite reputable but wouldn't show on the list as the reputation system was added quite late into the site.

hi

this shouldn't be added, it'd give users a false sense of security.

Thanks for your suggestion. I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. I agree with the first point about how the reputation "boxes" might be confusing to some new users and better clarification is needed.

However, I disagree with your idea about making a new section under the Members list for reputable members, especially when you said only staff would be able to decide who goes there. I'm not saying staff would discriminate, but I'm also not saying they wouldn't. That's just asking for trouble. Also, it would be a bad idea to assign a Trusted rank tag to reputable users for similar reasons.
Thnakyou for your suggestion

I still use the vouch system and when someone asks for my rep I just show that, I don't think it's needed for another "trusted" rank tag because I could just go sell 30 $1 thread designs then get 30 +rep making me "trusted" for bigger deals.

It's already abused enough we don't need ranks added ;)

the number of reputation someone has does not automatically make them more or less reputable. I'm already opposed to even showing the numbers, since those numbers are way less relevant than the quality of the review. If it was up to me I'd just make it "view positive reviews "view negative reviews" "view neutral reviews", except ofc with similar-sized buttons as it is now.

Cool idea! More info should be given and a list could be added but that is Mick's choice.

This entire concept of "trusted members" is ridiculous. As we have seen multiple times on this forum, the reputation of a member does not dictate whether or not they are trustable. Exit scams are becoming more common than terrorist attacks

The current system is fine. Being "well known," while different from being "trusted," allows members to approach others with a different expectation.

Of course you would agree ;)

Like Croc said, asking staff to pick members is not going to work out well. Just because someone is reputable in their eyes doesn't mean he is in general.
Also, what if someone who was picked by staff scams? The staff team would most likely be blamed.
This is also why staff members don't middleman.

Denied for the reasons other people have made above, MC-Market isn't going to claim a user is reputable, that's what the reputation system is for and we don't want anything official to state "Yes, trust this user".

Thanks for the suggestion.
