Alright so maybe it'd be nice if the guy you neg repped with a valid reason, couldn't neg rep you back just for revenge and without having a reason to, usually when you neg rep a person, he neg reps you back for an absolute bullshit made-up reason. What are your thoughts on this? Rarely will you ever find a case where it was both's faults, and they'd normally not neg rep each other. I'm talking about the toxic people that do it.

I try to avoid any conflict possible pretty much. That's the solution to the reputation system.

However, this can be abused so damn hard. Like holy damn. This is not a good solution. Sorry.

Doge has a thread all about this typa stuff that got denied, neg repping someone back is already against the rules, just report the rep.

I dont reg rep people, mostly because of this. If it is just revenge rep then you can report it and have it removed. But seems more trouble doing all that, than just not leaving the rep in the first place. Not the best way of going about it, but if i've had a bad experience dealing with a customer, i dont want to make it even worse and more of a hastle to deal with. If they word the rep right, it doesnt look false, and you would have to gather proof that it is.

A better way might just be to give warning points (5-10) to anyone caught giving false - rep. But there isnt anything else that can be done. Actually stopping them from leaving rep, would cause even more problems. Since the other person could leave bad rep on you first, even though its not your fault.

One reason i still think we need a reputation moderator to deal with reports and review - rep before its displayed publicly. Bit like a resource mod but for rep.

The whole point of the reputation system is so others can see if you're trust worthy, a good person to do business with, or not.. Therefor; people should give rep after they've dealt with a user. It's not like you have to or anything but just not giving one imo isn't the best option out there.

The reputation system is broken however, mods have removed my legitimate negative reps I've given out before just because someone reported it, with no proof.. They definitely need to get more info before giving warning points and removing them.

The whole system isn't that good in general, while it isn't happening everything Doge suggested in his denied post should be added. It's kinda broken and because of it many users don't take it seriously.

1. There's no way to verify deals; therefor our reputation system is not your trade reputation, but your community reputation.
Know that.

2. When you negative rep someone, you've abandoned your attempt to reconcile with them and improve your relationship. You think negatively of them and are going to express that instead of fix that. It should not be suprising if they, as a result, also abandon the idea of improving your thoughts of them and theirs of you. This is truly a loss in your commutity reputation, and points reflecting that isn't absurd.
Try and make good with people before negative repping them if you want to strive for a great reputation. I mean it.

3. Implementing this would do one thing and one thing only: Make it a race to see who can neg rep first. Then the other person's opinion is automatically invalidated.
This doesn't fix anything, it makes it worse.

Yes there are problems with the reputation system. But simply stating that then throwing out all your ideas doesn't mean those ideas are the solution.
That said, don't withold your ideas. I just dislike all the claims that a perfect system is on the other end of that idea, or that we haven't been trying to make it better.
Anyways. Thanks for your thoughts.
