Currently, the reputation system is a little bit misleading. I've seen some people's reputation, and some of them are full of "Vouch, nice guy" "Vouch, worked in the past", and I know the reputation is one's opinion of another. However, I believe we should have a separate section for reputation, where people can create reputation threads, and that those reputation posts should follow a set of rules, in my opinion, the following:

1) The items that were bought or sold
2) The transaction amount
3) The payment method
4) Who went first

These reputation threads should be strictly for when reputation should be added. If it was a CS:GO skin trade or if you used a middleman, no reputation should be added due to the fact that no trust was needed for the deal.

However, creating this, people will more easily see how many successful deals the user has done, where they have earned a little more trust.

Before disagreeing, please comment why you disagree.

This is simply ridiculous, we don't need thousands of weird threads where people say "vouch". We already have a reputation system where you can clearly see deals that have been done.

No.

How about instead of inventing a completely new system you just see if you can report that reputation for being non-constructive?

"vouch, nice guy" is of about as legitimate as reputation as "DNDW, this guy's a dick". It does not in any way describe what the problem/positive is.

Also, if you're arguing for reputation to become purely trade-based, I've got bad news for you.
The staff team has decided to allow opinion-based reputation as long as it still obeys the other rules. I do not recall the exact reasoning, but I do recall that it made sense even though I disagree with the choice of solution.

Also "worked in the past" is valid reputation because they have done deals before lol

Why do you keep saying "Lol"? It makes you look very "cocky" tbh. Not here to bash or trash on you, but just saying man. But I agree with your opinion.

Never said it wasn't valid, just saying it shouldn't be valid due to the fact that he didn't specify anything.

What does that have to do with anything?

Clearly they specified they worked in the past??? What more do you need?

What they worked with, what was their deal about? Worked in the past? That could just be a friend that sais that.

I don't think it really matters what they have done, they might want to keep it private.

That's what my suggestion was about. Keep it private? Eh, okay. "Hi, vouch for submarine, he is really good at trading but I can't disclose what we traded, sorry!"

I don't see why that can't be valid?

It is valid according to the current reputation rules of MC-Market, however, that's what this thread is genuinely about.

There is no need for a thread for that when you can just put it in a profile that requires less space to be taken up on the servers.
Including what if someone just wants to say vouch! because they don't want to include anything else for reasons.
Saying just "Vouch!" is against the current reputation rules.

Yes but if you leave a reputation saying you have done deals before, that's as valid as anything.

I reacted to you saying that 'vouch, nice guy' etc is not valid reputation. it is not, and it should not be. I agree. However, what you are suggesting is a completely new system for keeping track of reputation.
If I read your suggestion correctly, you want to create a forum section where each user can create a thread to keep track of their reputation/vouches, yes? What I'm saying is that this makes no sense in the current situation, since we have a perfectly functional reputation system already. It's just not being used properly yet

All we need now is to find out the definition of 'valid reputation'. I agree with you that stuff like "vouch, nice guy" or "did X with user, went well" is not really that valuable, but it's already a solid improvement over the past situations. Did you know that before the whole thing where you 'vouch' in someone's thread happened, reputation was measured by how many "winner" ratings a thread had? You can still see the residual effects of that if you look at, say, the threads stickied to the top of premade builds.

So, in short, you want to create something like a separate forum section where people can leave detailed reviews instead of a few words the way they do now.
The thing is, since most people are not even using the full available length of the reputation text boxes, having a separate option specifically for trades and that has more space to write is not going to do much.

The best we can do right now is to keep pushing to see the general view of the forum's community sway towards what we want.

Being one of the people who pushed the unofficial system from the 'winner' ratings (formerly 'vouch' ratings) to using actual vouches (though many people still use "vouch!" and nothing else), I can assure you that putting enough pressure on it works. It just takes time.

I completely agree with you now. I actually thought about saying in the original post that we should add some new rules to the current reputation system, and then the staff members should actually enforce them.
