There's a word limit of 500 when leaving reputation.

I had to paste it into a pastebin and leave the link for the reputation explanation.. I think we need more space to write about the situation, explain it fully especially if it's negative and we need users to know why the reputation is like this, the full story etc..

It's not a huge thing but I don't see how moving the limit up a little can cause any issues.
I think it's more important to be able to see full explanations regarding negative rep and the full story around it.

This isn’t a bad suggestion it’s just not very necessary. It only takes a few sentences to usually get whatever point you’re trying to make across in regards to a deal. If someone is curious about the full story behind a potential negative review a user has on their profile they can just message you asking for more details.

Justis what are your thoughts on upping reputation message totals from 500 characters to 1000?

On one hand, I think that allowing more detailed descriptions could allow people to explain their reasoning more, but it could also just lead to people writing an essay to say something that only really needed a few sentences to explain.

tbh having an essay over being limited and not being able to word it correctly is way better

If you’re uncertain on whether or not to increase it to 1000 or leave it alone, then perhaps jumping straight to doubling the character count isn’t the best choice. Instead, allowing the community the chance to try out something in the middle, 750, for instance, may be more suitable.

At the moment I'm going through a number of suggestions, and a lot of them were created regarding the reputation updates that we published and later rescinded. We now have a system where we consider some reputation to be 'legacy' and that reputation does not count toward reputation totals, and overall I feel like now a lot of people are satisfied with this system.

There were a tonne of suggestion threads created during this time, all with very valid criticism of our updates, and I believe that the reputation system we have now is even better because of that so thank you for that.

I'll move this to denied now, along with the rest of the suggestions made on this topic at this time, thank you.
