Make it so that you can post links as proof in the rep system. (To sites such as gyazo, imgur, etc.). It's incredibly annoying to use the snipping tool to make a reputation. It's a simple enough change to the rep system, and it makes everything 10x easier.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

When the link dies, so will your reputation.

Believe me, it happens. Stack Overflow has the same attitude.

I was talking to mick about this in SB, he said no bc then either they have to download the image themselves, or you have to hope that the link doesn't go thanos snap.

If the link dies, then the rep gets removed. It's the person's responsibility to keep the link alive. If they don't want to do that, use the snipping tool.

Don't give people the option. It makes them lazy and then the entire system will be fucked, resulting in people (again) complaining that the reputation system & proof system is crazy.

Some people will be happy. Some won't. But at least the system will work.

I’m agreeing with this, as I had suggested it previously in response to another suggestion, under the condition that the image at the other end of the link be automatically converted into an attachment, so there’s no risk of its contents changing or being removed.

Why will the report system be "fucked", as you so elequently put it? Using Justis's change, it just seems like it would be the same system, but easier for the person creating the rep.

I'm fine with this. It's easier for both the viewer of the rep, and the person that makes the rep.

I was talking to Mick or Jayson (maybe both) about this in SB and he just said it was a bunch of unnecessary work..

Yeah it technically is - you try scraping various sites for images and justifying the site's subsequent sluggish behaviour.

If making it easier for users to upload proof will make them upload better proof, then I have no problems with us trying to implement this and add the image as an attachment. I'll move this to pending for our dev queue in the future.

I'll move this to pending, thanks for the suggestion.
