Hello, people of Built by Bit.

I am in need of a professional solution for backing up my Linux OS. (Debian)
  • I need it to be backed up minimum once a day, and for the backup to be "off-site". Stored in the cloud for me to access whenever I would need it.
  • It must be compatible with Linux (Debian) and "easy to use", so I could quickly learn how to use it and possibly troubleshoot it.
  • The price of the software can't be crazy, probably max 50-100 USD a month.
  • I would need to be able to at least do a full backup of all my Minecraft servers, but hopefully the full OS itself.

I have seen many programs and software out there that offer backup, cloud storage, etc, but it's all very confusing, either super expensive or kinda sketchy.

So I wonder if any of you have had good success with backup software that stores backups off-site, in the cloud, isn't crazy expensive, and is fairly simple to use?

Thanks in advance!

I'd buy a dedicated server elsewhere and install TrueNAS on it (a highly reputable backup solution) , you can then send files to that TrueNAS server - you'll need to write some sort of shell script in order to do the backups though.

You'll probably want a system admin (assuming you're not one yourself) to do it as you'll need KVM access to a machine, and they may also potentially be able to write you a script.

Thank you for the suggestion. I am currently running my main server on OVH, and I am not the most experienced Linux user.
I would need to buy a dedicated server with lots of storage. Do you have any reputable in mind?

Hetzner is always a solid option, you can get some pretty decent deals in the server auction, and they also give you 3 hours of free KVM which you'd need for a TrueNAS install.

Easy solution - Office 365 + Rclone. DM me on Discord - JasmeowTheCat#0001
Used it with over 50 clients, it's like my swiss army knife of awsomeness.
