Requesting help - where should i start?

Anyway, this is for developers - I have had my fair share of experience with java and plugin development in general, now, I just want to know how i can build reputation on this site?

Start by doing free work to build up reputation and a portfolio. Then you can ask for money in exchange.

I would suggest finding some clients and making free or small budget plugins to start with then ask them to give you a vouch.
