Yep,
I thought it was a system that checked when a name was available and took it when it was available.
I was told it wasn't.

The original user of the name must change away from it before the snipe can be queued. How it works is that after a user changes his/her name from something OG (say, Dog) to another name, (say, pie), the name "dog" will become available in 37 days. Once the sniper detects that it is becoming available, it will allow you to queue it up.

However, for names like PgTips and Tetley, the original users haven't changed them yet. A sniper (usually) won't wait on this because there is no way to tell when (if ever) they are going to change it.
