I am an admin on his server, and first off. They use MCProHosting, so they are spending a shit ton of money when they do not need to do so. Second, if he makes a big network from the start, he is going to ruin any chances he has at making a larger network. I told him this twice, and he never listened to me.

I'll give you honest advice from someone who is looking to invest $200 to $500 on a server (and no I'm not going to invest in yours, no random PM's plz). What people like me are looking for is proof of concept. Show us a trailer, have lots of custom coded content that makes your server unique and stand out. Maybe have a waiting list of people who are interested for the launch of your server. Have a few established members of the community names' attached to a project. You can't blindly ask for funding without a clear plan laid out. Have estimates ready, be professional, and people will start to notice you.
